The main goal of the work presented in this paper is to determine an optimal strategy for virtual characters performing judicious combinations of speech, gesture and motion in order to disambiguate references to objects in the physical environment. The work is located in the research area of mobile computing and deals with the combination of mobile and stationary devices.
We study the scaling exponents of a 1+1-dimensional directed polymer in a Brownian random environment introduced by O’Connell and Yor. For a version of the model with boundary conditions that are stationary in a space-time sense we identify the exact values of the exponents. The paper presents the application of the reinforcement learning for the autonomous mobile robot moving learning in an unknown, stationary environment. The robot movement policy was represented by a probabilistic RBF neural network.
