Induction motors can be modeled in different ways for correct operation and control, one of these is the ? - ? representation, this model has six state variables that monitored: rotor position, speed, flux, current current. Usually, only three measured directly with sensors. These sensors are subject to long periods work stress, so a failure cannot ruled out. Sensor cause problems control motor...

Two-dimensional echocardiography revealed cardiac tumors in the fetus of a mother with tuberous sclerosis. After birth, six cardiac tumors were demonstrated by two-dimensional echocardiography. Real-time three-dimensional echocardiography was performed, which demonstrated good cardiac wall motility. Data set analysis revealed a 7 tumor adjacent to the aortic valve: normal aortic valve movements...

We developed a new method for real-time, three-dimensional tracking of fluorescent particles. The instrument is based on a laser-scanning confocal microscope where the focus of the laser beam is scanned or orbited around the particle. Two confocal pinholes are used to simultaneously monitor regions immediately above and below the particle and a feedback loop is used to keep the orbit centered o...

Real-time 3D ultrasound can enable new image-guided surgical procedures, but high data rates prohibit the use of traditional tracking techniques. We present a new method based on the modified Radon transform that identifies the axis of instrument shafts as bright patterns in planar projections. Instrument rotation and tip location are then determined using fiducial markers. These techniques are...

We demonstrate real-time microscope image gating to an arbitrary position in the cycle of the beating heart of a zebrafish embryo. We show how this can be used for high-precision prospective gating of fluorescence image slices of the moving heart. We also present initial results demonstrating the application of this technique to 3-D structural imaging of the beating embryonic heart.

Conventional studies of lightness constancy have almost exclusively used flat plain stimuli and have shown that lightness matches across illuminants cannot be explained by physical matches of reflectance or luminance. The perceptual qualities that underlie lightness judgments still remain largely unknown. Real objects are often 3-D and patterned, giving additional cues for identification. We ex...

Today increasing hardware performance and the development of faster and more efficient algorithms allow the implementation of signal processors even on PCs. This article discusses real-time processing of digital audio with wavelets and multiresolution analysis. We present a tool that allows the real-time application and modification of wavelet filters. Thus, it allows the user to directly hear ...
