We report in-plane resistivity (ρ) and transverse magnetoresistance (MR) measurements for underdoped HgBa(2)CuO(4+δ) (Hg1201). Contrary to the long-standing view that Kohler's rule is strongly violated in underdoped cuprates, we find that it is in fact satisfied in the pseudogap phase of Hg1201. The transverse MR shows a quadratic field dependence, δρ/ρ(0)=aH(2), with a(T)∝T(-4). In combination...

Metal-graphene interfaces generated by electrode deposition induce barriers or potential modulations influencing the electronic transport properties of graphene based devices. However, their impact on the local mechanical properties of graphene is much less studied. Here we show that graphene near a metallic interface can exhibit a set of ripples self-organized into domains whose topographic ro...

River Res Applic. 2017;1–13. Abstract The transport of water and sediment from rivers to adjacent floodplains helps generate complex floodplain, wetland, and riparian ecosystems. However, riverside levees restrict lateral connectivity of water and sediment during flood pulses, making the re‐introduction of floodplain hydrogeomorphic processes through intentional levee breaching and removal an e...

Let X be an Axiom A flow with a transverse torus T exhibiting a unique orbit O that does not intersect T . Suppose that there is no nullhomotopic closed curve in T contained in either the stable or unstable set of O. Then we show that X has either an attracting periodic orbit or a repelling periodic orbit or is transitive. In particular, an Anosov flow with a transverse torus is transitive if i...

One of the strongest advantages of CT angiography (CTA) lies in its unique ability to display simultaneously the anatomy of the vascular system and the topographic relationships existing between the vessels and the neighboring structures. The case we report, a 76-year-old man who underwent an intraventricular shunt placement complicated by a stroke, shows how this topographic assessment also pr...

A measurement of prompt photon-pair production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV is presented. The data were recorded by the ATLAS detector LHC with an integrated luminosity 139 fb$^{-1}$. Events two photons well-instrumented region are selected. required to be isolated and have a transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T,\gamma_{1(2)}} > 40(30)$ GeV for leading (sub-leading) photon. diff...

Understanding information coding is important for resolving the functions of visual neural circuits. The motion vision system is a classic model for studying information coding as it contains a concise and complete information-processing circuit. In Drosophila, the axon terminals of motion-detection neurons (T4 and T5) project to the lobula plate, which comprises four regions that respond to th...

In the field of neuroscience, there has always been a need for imaging techniques that provide high-resolution, large field-of-view measurements of neural activity. Functional MRI has this capability, but the link between the blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) signal and neural activity is indirect. High magnetic field strengths (>3 T) improve ...

The southeastern Tibetan Plateau (SETP) is well known for its large strike–slip faults with high slip rates and a potential seismic hazards. However, little about thrust associated hazards, even though they can produce devastating earthquakes despite their relatively low rate. Here we investigated the recent tectonic uplift pattern in SETP on regional scale by combining geomorphic analysis geod...

Background & Aim: Refractive change after strabismus surgery is a known phenomenon which may be attributed to the extraocular muscle traction.Since previous studies were often done by conventional methods, accompanied by a short follow-up, and without considering simultaneous evaluation of both refractive and topographic changes, this study was organized to evaluate refractive and topographic ...
