Spontaneous rupture of the triceps tendon is a rare injury, 24 cases having been previously reported in the Literature. Patella cubiti is the rare anomaly of a sesamoid bone in the triceps tendon. We report a combination of the two conditions.
Rupture of the triceps tendon is an uncommon injury, probably the rarest of all tendinous ruptures. We present a case of missed diagnosis of triceps tendon rupture. Such diagnosis should be considered when a patient presents with pain and swelling at the back of the elbow after a fall on an outstretched hand.
Abstract A nerve‐sparing procedure during robot‐assisted radical prostatectomy has been considered one of the most important techniques for preserving postoperative genitourinary function. The reason is that adequate procedures could preserve both erectile function and lower urinary tract after surgery. When a carried out, cavernous nerves themselves cannot be visualized, despite magnified view...
BACKGROUND We report the operative details and short term oncologic and functional outcome of the first 334 Robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy experiences for organ confined prostate cancer METHODS From August 2009 to December 2012, details of 334 consecutive patients were retrospectively analyzed. The analyzed parameters included: preoperative, per-operative characteristics, postoperativ...
BACKGROUND Current teaching suggests increased perfusion in free transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flaps over pedicled TRAM flaps, broadening indications for its use in high risk patients. This study compared perfusion analysis of free muscle-sparing versus pedicle TRAM flaps in vivo in the peri-operative and late post-operative periods. METHODS The SPY-Elite system using...

Introduction The axillary nerve comes from the posterior cord of the brachial plexus at the level of the axilla and carries nerve fibers from C5 and C6. The axillary nerve travels through the quadrangular space with the posterior circumflex humeral vessels, and divides into anterior and posterior branches. It supplies deltoid and teres minor. It carries sensory information from the shoulder joi...
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of low intensity laser (660nm), on the surae triceps muscle fatigue and power, during vertical jump in sedentary individuals, in addition to delayed onset muscle soreness. METHODS We included 22 sedentary volunteers in the study, who were divided into three groups: G1 (n=8) without performing low intensity laser (control); G2 (n=7) subjected to 6 days of l...
We reviewed 26 patients who had had internal fixation of an open intra-articular supracondylar fracture of the humerus. All operations were performed using a posterior approach, 13 with a triceps split and 13 with an olecranon osteotomy. The outcome was assessed by means of the Mayo Elbow score, the Disability of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand (DASH) score and the SF-36 Physical Function score. Pat...
