Studies over the past 20 years have clearly shown the potential for developing vaccines against larval cestode infections of man and animals. The important larval cestode infections of man (Echinococcus granulosus--hydatidosis: Taenia solium--cysticercosis) involve domesticated animals as intermediate hosts in their natural life-cycles. These animals develop strong immunity against reinfection,...
Background: Ascariasis and trichuriasis are the most common intestinal geohelminthic diseases, and as such they are significant in terms of clinical and public health. This study was done to determine prevalence, status and geographic distribution patterns for Ascariasis and Trichuriasis. The study was done in the period 1991-2014 in northern Iran using Aregis 9.2 software. Methods: This was...
Melophagus ovinus (sheep ked) is a hematophagous ectoparasite that mainly parasitizes sheep. In addition to causing inflammation, wool loss, and skin damage the animal hosts, M. also serves as vector for variety of pathogens highly likely participate in life transmission cycle pathogenic organisms. Herein, we investigated presence molecular characterization vector-borne from Qinghai-Tibet Plate...
Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis biovar Ovis is the etiological agent of contagious and chronic disease caseous lymphadenitis (CLA) in sheep goats. The economic impact CLA Switzerland remains largely unknown, transmission modalities, as well genetic diversity circulating strains, are poorly understood. This work presents further characterization data for 215 C. isolates from sheep, goats a dr...
The use of multidisciplinary approaches investigation including biological, biogeographical, historical, morphological, and genetic analysis, can be useful in identifying preserving biodiversity. present study focuses on the characterisation conservation a mouflon population (Ovis gmelini musimon) from Mediterranean island Giglio. Here we provide first molecular data Giglio compare it with mouf...
Two variants of an organism resembling the ovine hemoplasma, Mycoplasma ovis, were detected by PCR in blood samples from a veterinarian in Texas. Coinfection with similar variants has been described in sheep. This represents the first report of human infection with this organism. The veterinarian was coinfected with Bartonella henselae.
