We present several coupled finite and boundary element formulations for the vibro-acoustic simulation of completely immersed bodies such as submarines. All formulations are based on the different use of standard boundary integral equations. In addition to the well known symmetric coupling we discuss two different approaches which are based on the weakly singular boundary integral equation only.

China Abstract In this paper, we consider a general form of nonlinear integral inequalities with the unknown function composed with a given function on the left hand side, more than one distinct nonlinear integrals on its right-hand side, and weakly singular kernels,...
Two numerical algorithms based on variational iteration and decomposition methods are developed to solve a linear partial integro-differential equation with a weakly singular kernel arising from viscoelasticity. In addition, analytic solution is re-derived by using the variational iteration method and decomposition method.
We study the approximation of weakly singular integrals over triangles in general position in R3, giving explicit formulae where convenient and numerical quadrature in more general cases. Particular models considered concern the collocation and Galerkin methods in the boundary integral approach to the Dirichlet problem for Laplace’s equation.
In this chapter, we survey recent results on the numerical solutions of the Hammerstein equations. Hammerstein equations arise naturally in connection with the Laplace equation with a certain class of nonlinear boundary conditions. The Hammerstein equations with smooth as well as weakly singular kernels will be treated.
We investigate the asymptotic behaviour of networks interacting non-linear Hawkes processes modeling a homogeneous population neurons in large limit. In particular, we prove functional central limit theorem for mean spike-activity thereby characterizing fluctuations terms stochastic Volterra integral equation. Our approach differs from previous approaches making use associated resolvent order t...
This paper is concerned with the problem of scattering of time-harmonic electromagnetic waves from penetrable diffraction gratings in the 2D polarization case. We propose a new, weakly singular, integral equation formulation for the scattering problem which is proved to be uniquely solvable. A main feature of the new integral equation formulation is that it avoids the computation of the normal ...
