Bacillus mycoides B38V is a bacterium isolated from the sunflower rhizosphere that is able to promote plant growth and N uptake. The genome of the isolate has approximately 5.80 Mb and presents sequence codifiers for plant growth-promoting characteristics, such as nitrate reduction and ammonification and iron-siderophore uptake.

Understanding ecosystem processes as they relate to wildfire and vegetation dynamics is of growing importance as fire frequency and extent increase throughout the western United States. However, the effects of severe, stand-replacing wildfires are poorly understood. We studied inorganic nitrogen pools and mineralization rates after stand-replacing wildfires in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem,...
Members of the genus Arthrobacter are usually regarded as obligate aerobic bacteria. The anaerobic growth and energy metabolism of two Arthrobacter species were investigated. Arthrobacter globiformis utilized both nitrate ammonification and lactate, acetate and ethanol producing fermentation processes for anaerobic growth. Only nitrate supported anaerobic growth of Arthrobacter nicotianae. Anae...
It is difficult to obtain high-protein contents from rice straw using direct fermentation due its low nitrogen content. This study investigates the effects of ammonification–steam explosion pretreatment on protein content after solid-state (SSF). The carried out under multi-strain inoculation conditions. samples ammonification (TA), steam (TSE), and (TA-SE) were compared control group (TC). res...
Forest litter accumulation can regulate the soil microclimate and alter nutrient distribution, but effects of quality seasonal differences on nitrogen (N) mineralization are still uncertain. The change rates net N mineralization, nitrification, ammonification were studied through in situ incubation experiments coniferous, mixed, broad-leaved forests eastern Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau. Two treatmen...
