results: the lowest concentrations of nzvi that inhibited the visible growth (mic) of e. amylovora, x. oryzae, b. cereus and streptomyces spp. were 625, 550, 1250 and 1280 ppm, respectively. the minimum bactericidal concentration (mbc) for e. amylovora and x. oryzae were 10,000 and 5,000 ppm of nzvi, respectively. mbc was not observed for the gram positive bacteria. no bacteriostatic and bacter...
A lysogenic Streptomyces sp., strain NS.A4, which was isolated from the nodule surface of black gram (Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper), was found to inhibit rhizobia of fast-and slow-growing strains of cowpeas and soybeans. It exhibited plaques when there was a change in cultural conditions. Repeated culturing of the organism in nutrient agar and broth confirmed the infection of Streptomyces sp. strain...
An actinomycete strain with a great potential to produce bioactive compounds isolated from a laterite soil was identified as Streptomyces sp. MSL based on 16S rDNA sequence analysis. Secondary metabolites produced by the strain in optimized nutrient broth were extracted and analyzed by chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Among the different fractions, four diols, viz., (1) (2R,3R)-2,3...
flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...
A number of new disubstituted 2,5-thiazolidinone derivatives were synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis (Gram-positive), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative), and Streptomyces species (Actinomycetes). They displayed different degrees of antimicrobial activities or inhibitory actions.
Streptomyces cattleya produced a new cyclopentenedione antibiotic, G2201-C [C6H6O4(I)], which is moderatley active in vitro against Gram-positive bacteria, weakly active against Gram-negative bacteria, and inactive against fungi. G2201-C is toxic to mice.
A novel antibiotic, designated lydicamycin, was isolated from the fermentation broth of an actinomycete strain identified as Streptomyces lydicus. Lydicamycin was active against Gram-positive bacteria and a certain yeast, but inactive against Gram-negative bacteria.
During our continuous search for antibiotic producing actinomycetes, a variant of Streptomyces species was isolated from soils of Andhra Pradesh in India. The morphological, cultural, physiological and biochemical characters were studied, compared to known species and identified as a new variant of Streptomyces noursei and designated as Streptomyces noursei var saccharicus. The antibiotic activ...
A new juglomycin-type antibiotic was identified by a HPLC-diode array screening technique in the culture filtrate of Streptomyces tendae Tü 901/8c. Juglomycin Z (1) differs from all other known juglomycin compounds by an additional methyl group in position 3 of the naphthoquinone ring system. Juglomycin Z is antibiotically active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and against yeasts.
The Streptomycetes sp. SCBT strain Gen Bank accession number EU143270 isolated from the rhizosphere soil of medicinal plants was collected from the Kolli hills of Tamil Nadu, India. The strain Streptomyces is designated as School of Chemical and Biotechnology (SCBT), capable of inhibiting the growth of a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. An almost complete 16S rRNA gene se...
