There are only a few reported cases of synovial chondromatosis affecting pisotriquetral joint (PT). Osteoarthritis of the PT is also rare and can be as disabling as osteoarthritis of any other joint. We report this to be the unique case of synovial chondromatosis of the PT joint with secondary osteoarthritis.

Primary synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon disorder, and involvement of the hip joint is rare. The clinical symptoms are usually non-specific, and a clinical diagnosis of synovial chondromatosis of the hip may be difficult and delayed, especially before the ossifying nodules become evident. Loose bodies in the joint can cause secondary degenerative osteoarthritis of the hip. Currently, the ...

Synovial chondromatosis is a rare lesion in the wrist, but some cases in the distal radioulnar joint have been reported and previous case reports emphasize joint calcifications, shown on preoperative plain radiographs. We report an extremely uncommon case of synovial chondromatosis in the pisotriquetral joint, in which radiographs and magnetic resonance imaging did not demonstrate apparent calc...

Chondral tumors in soft tissue are referred to as soft-tissue chondromas or extraskeletal chondromas, or as synovial chondromatosis if they arise in synovial tissue. We report the case of a 29-year-old man with synovial chondromatosis, also called synovial osteochondromatosis, which appeared in a solitary and extra-articular form. On magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography, the...
