We report a case of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) in an immunocompetent native from non-endemic region of India that presented with chronic diarrhoea. VL was not a differential diagnosis and was unexpectedly diagnosed as intestinal leishmaniasis through the identification of the Leishman-Donovan (LD) bodies in duodenal and colonic mucosa.
