A saddle point variational (SPV ) method was applied to the Dirac equation as an example of a fully relativistic equation with both negative and positive energy solutions. The effect of the negative energy states was mitigated by maximizing the energy with respect to a relevant parameter while at the same time minimizing it with respect to another parameter in the wave function. The Cornell pot...

In this paper, a new method for combining an ensemble of classifiers, called Consensus-based Combining Method (CCM) is proposed and evaluated. As in most other combination methods, the outputs of multiple classifiers are weighted and summed together into a single final classification decision. However, unlike the other methods, CCM adjusts the weights iteratively after comparing all of the clas...

Abstract: By the analytical coupled cluster method (CCM), we study both the ground state and lowest-lying excited-state properties of the alternating bond diamond chain. The numerical exact diagonalization (ED) method is also applied to the chain to verify the accuracy of CCM results. The ED results show that the ground-state phase diagram contains two exact spin cluster solid ground states, na...

In this paper, we present a comparative numerical analysis to determine the refractive index of photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) by using FDFD method and used the results to evaluate the confinement losses of PCFs by considering the effects of air-hole rings in the cladding. It is shown that by increasing the wavelength, the imaginary part of refraction index rises, resulting in increase of conf...

The convergence-confinement method, based on the analysis of the stress and strain state that develops in the rock around a circular tunnel, has been presented in this study with the two analytical solutions that have been most frequently used in recent years. Problem statement: Thanks to the increased power of electronic processors and the spread of numerical methods, the role of the convergen...

Abstract The coupled cluster method (CCM) is one of the most successful and universally applicable techniques in quantum many-body theory. The intrinsic nonlinear and non-perturbative nature of the method is considered to be one of its advantages. We present here a combination of CCM with the Wilsonian renormalization group which leads to a powerful framework for construction of effective Hamil...

This work presents blind constrained constant modulus (CCM) adaptive algorithms based on the set-membership filtering (SMF) concept and incorporates dynamic bounds for interference suppression applications. We develop stochastic gradient and recursive least squares type algorithms based on the CCM design criterion in accordance with the specifications of the SMF concept. We also propose a blind...

The penalization method is used to take account of obstacles, such as the limiter, in a tokamak. Because of the magnetic confinement of the plasma in a tokamak, the transport occurs essentially in the direction parallel to the magnetic field lines. We study a 1D nonlinear hyperbolic system as a simplified model of the plasma transport in the area close to the wall. A penalization which cuts the...

A review is given of our recent application of a systematic microscopic formulation of quantum many-body theory, namely the coupled-cluster method (CCM), to Hamiltonian U (1) lattice gauge models in the pure gauge sector. It is emphasized that our CCM results represent a natural extension or resummation of the results from the strong-coupling perturbation theory.
