This paper discusses the problem of covering and hitting a set of line segments L in R by a pair of axis-parallel squares such that the side length of the larger of the two squares is minimized. We also discuss the restricted version of covering, where each line segment in L is to be covered completely by at least one square. The proposed algorithm for the covering problem reports the optimum r...

A path P connecting a pair of vertices in connected fuzzy graph is called detour, if its μ - length maximum among all the feasible paths between them. In this paper we establish notion detour convex sets, covering, basis, number, blocks and investigate some their properties. It has been proved that, for complete G, set any G covering. necessary sufficient condition to become block also establis...

One main group of a transportation network is a discrete hub covering problem that seeks to minimize the total transportation cost. This paper presents a multi-product and multi-mode hub covering model, in which the transportation time depends on travelling mode between each pair of hubs. Indeed, the nature of products is considered different and hub capacity constraint is also applied. Due to ...

In this article, we introduce the concept of co-covering which is the dual of covering concept. Then, we prove several theorems being similar to the theorems that have been de-veloped for the covering concept. For example, we provide the lifting criterion for co-coverings of a topological space X, which helps us to classify them by subgroups of the group of all homeomorphisms of X.

In this paper we review four fuzzy extensions of the socalled tight pair of covering based rough set approximation operators. Furthermore, we propose two new extensions of the tight pair: for the first model, we apply the technique of representation by levels to define the approximation operators, while the second model is an intuitive extension of the crisp operators. For the six models, we st...

(A) All rings in this announcement are commutative and with 1. For any ring K we denote by W(K) the Witt ring of nondegenerate symmetric bilinear forms over K. DEFINITION 1. A signature o of K is a ring homomorphism from W(K) to Z. REMARK 1. If K is a field, the signatures correspond uniquely with the orderings of K [3], [9]. Thus Theorem 1 below generalizes the main results of Artin-Schreier's...

The goals of hub location problems are finding the location of hub facilities and determining the allocation of non-hub nodes to these located hubs. In this work, we discuss the multi-modal single allocation capacitated p-hub covering problem over fully interconnected hub networks. Therefore, we provide a formulation to this end. The purpose of our model is to find the location of hubs and the ...

A new design of coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna with circular polarization (CP) and excellent impedance matching is presented. In this design a pair of circular-shaped slits is applied to opposite corners of the slot for enhancing the impedance matching and realizes bandwidth of 134.43% across 2.98-15.20 GHz for VSWR≤2. Furthermore this structure exhibits axial ration bandwidth (ARBW) of 3...

This paper considers the design of a survivable WDM network based on covering the initial network with sub-networks, which are protected independently from each other. We focus on the case where the optical WDM network is a ring, there are requests between any pair of vertices and the covering is done with small cycles. This problem can be modelled as follows: Find a covering of the edges of a ...
