In this paper, a coplanar waveguide (CPW) fed slot antenna using fractal-shaped isosceles trapezoidal corrugations is designed and presented for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) applications. The proposed formed by regular hexagonal patch through CPW feed line radiates amidst notched wide slot. edge of the shaped fractal structure that five notches. printed on RO4350B substrate having compact size 0.305λ0 ...

A novel compact ultra wideband (UWB) bandpass filter (BPF) based on composite right/left handed transmission line (CRLH TL) is reported in this paper. The proposed UWB BPF is designed and developed by coupling of two unit-cells of via-less CRLH TL, excited by asymmetrical coplanar waveguide (CPW) feed-line. The unit cell of CRLH TL is designed using series interdigital capacitor (IDC) in shunt ...

Due to the size constraint, antennas with compact are required that can support multibands single radiating element. Dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) multiple modes good efficiency and gain using In this paper, a quad-band DRA is proposed for WLAN/WiMAX bands CPW feed. Out of four bands, WLAN (2.37-2.55) GHz, (5.15-5.35) (5.6-5.83) GHz achieved by excitation fundamental higher-order whereas W...

To solve many of the problems encountered when using conventional coplanar waveguide (CPW) with its semiinfinite ground planes, a new version of coplanar waveguide with electrically narrow ground planes has been developed. This new transmission line which we call Finite Ground Coplanar (FGC) waveguide has several advantages which make it a better transmission line for RF and wireless circuits. ...

We designed and fabricated an electrically small antenna (ESA) with coplanar waveguide (CPW) matching circuit. Matching circuit is realized by using interdigital gap and transmission line. We designed ESA with the aid of the commercial three-dimensional electro magnetic field simulator. We also made experiments on the ESA with CPW matching circuits using patterned circuit board.

In this article, a new CAD model for the coplanar waveguide (CPW) cross-over air-bridge is proposed. The model takes into account the CPW open-end capacitance and the vertical strips of the bridge. The section directly underneath the bridge is modeled as a small section of a microstrip line. Our results are in good agreement with the published full-wave results. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new type of elevated coplanar waveguide structure is described which uses airbridge technology to suspend CPW traces above a ground plane resting on a high permittivity substrate. The transmission line is effectively shielded from the substrate and is equivalent to conductor backed CPW with an extremely thin, air substrate. It is, therefore, insensitive to parasitic substrate effects such as ...

In this letter, a compact ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter based on CPW-tomicrostrip transition structure is proposed. Compared with traditional UWB BPF using hybrid structures, the proposed filter has a more sharp selectivity due to a transmission zero located at the lower edge of the passband generated by the combined effect of both CPW-MS-CPW and interdigital coupling line (ICL). Moreove...

This paper presents the design of compact CPW-fed band notched UWB square ring antenna. The main objective of this proposed research work is to reduce the size of antenna and avoid interference between UWB and WLAN application at 5.5GHz. The antenna consists of a square-ring metal patch and 50Ω coplanar waveguide fed. The structure of the antenna is miniaturized by optimizing its square ring pr...

An accurate model for lossy non-unifoim transmission lines is presented. The tcchnique provides a coplanar waveguide (CPW) taper model, which has been used to accurately dc-embed measurcments of passive CPW components in line gcometriea diffcring from the nominal 50 Q geometry of thc calibration. Thc modcl accounts for both dielectric and conductor losses, and is shown to be in excellent agreem...
