Difference EIT reconstructs a signal generated by conductivity contrasting regions. We explore the effect that, for large contrasts, conductive regions produce a greater signal than non-conductive ones, and this difference is determined by the region shape.
The subject of electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is reviewed in this paper. Emphasis is placed on the experimental work reported in this ®eld since 1990. Theoretical work is also covered, although it is not intended to review all the very numerous recent theoretical treatments on this topic. The basic physical ideas behind EIT are elucidated. The relation of EIT to other processes ...
the semi-classical model of atom-field interaction has been fully studied for some multilevel atoms, e.g. vee, l, cascade x , y, and inverted y and so on. this issue is developed into the full-quantum electrodynamics formalism, where the probe and coupling electromagnetic fields are quantized. in this article, we investigate the full-quantum model of absorption and dispersion spectrum of trappe...

Electromagnetically induced transparency ~EIT! has been studied primarily within the context of multilevel atomic systems. We show that EIT can occur also in a two-level atomic system and can lead to strong self-action and slow-light effects that are not hampered by material absorption, with important potential implications for processes such as squeezed-light generation and the propagation of ...
Sensitive radio observations of the 1997 September 24 EIT wave show its velocity to be 830 km s−1. The wave first appears a short distance from the flare site, and its trajectory projects back to the flare site at the peak of the impulsive phase. The radio spectrum appears to be consistent with optically thin coronal emission rather than chromospheric emission. The observed radio brightness tem...
The effect of intracavity electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) on the properties of optical resonators and active laser devices is discussed theoretically. Pronounced frequency pulling and cavity-linewidth narrowing are predicted. The EIT effect can be used to reduce classical and quantum-phase noise of the beat note of an optical oscillator substantially. Fundamental limits of this s...
