A recent method by Shary for enclosing the solution set of a system of linear interval equations is derived in a new way. It is shown that the method converges to the fixed-point inverse, and that it has finite termination with probability 1.

In this paper, we present necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of positive C3[0, 1]∩C4(0, 1) solutions for the singular boundaryvalue problem x′′′′(t) = p(t)f(x(t)), t ∈ (0, 1); x(0) = x(1) = x′(0) = x′(1) = 0, where f(x) is either superlinear or sublinear, p : (0, 1) → [0,+∞) may be singular at both ends t = 0 and t = 1. For this goal, we use fixed-point index results.

In this paper, we define expanding mappings in the setting of partial metric spaces analogous to expanding mappings in metric spaces. We also obtain some results for two mappings to the setting of partial metric spaces.

The purpose of this paper is to obtain some coincidence and fixed point theorems for a generalized hybrid pair of single-valued and set-valued non continuous maps. Our results generalize some recent results.
