The innominate trunk is a short vessel with crucial clinical relevance as in most patients it provides flow to the right subclavian artery and the right common carotid artery. Innominate trunk occlusions are particularly challenging, as results of endovascular therapy are suboptimal in terms of acute success, whereas open surgery poses a high risk of complications. The systematic application of...

Method We excluded from the study all patients who underwent emergent or urgent operation for acute aortic syndrome, any aortic surgery distal to innominate artery and patients who had other than innominate artery cannulation (aortic, subclavian/axillary, femoral). The final cohort was consisted of 81 patients who underwent elective ascending aorta replacement alone or with concomitant procedur...

Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (PAPVC) causes a left-to-right shunt from the anomalous pulmonary vein (PV) to a systemic vein. We report an uncommon adult case of PAPVC, in which the left upper PV drained into both the innominate vein and the left atrium (LA), demonstrating retrograde shunting from the LA to the innominate vein. The anomaly was surgically repaired.

traumatic injuries to great vessels are relative common in trauma practice. blunt thoracic trauma may result in dissection injury to aorta and innominate artery. we herein present a late presentation of traumatic innominate artery aneurysm. a29-year-old woman presented with dyspnea to our emergency department. she had previous motor-vehicle accident a month before presentation for which had und...

Although the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is conventionally accepted as a sagittal joint with little mobility in other planes, recent research has shown evidence for reduced hip abduction and axial rotation in patients with sacroiliac pain. A sample of healthy individuals was investigated to determine whether innominate motion about the sacroiliac joint can be predicted from abduction and external ro...

To determine the hemodynamic and clinical consequences of an atherosclerotic obstructive lesion of the innominate artery on the cerebral circulation, 20 patients with an innominate artery lesion underwent neurologic examination and ultrasonic duplex scanning before and after right arm exercise. The patients were divided into two groups: Group 1, 12 patients with 40-80% stenosis and Group 2, eig...

Innominate artery injury is an uncommon consequence of blunt trauma to the neck due its protected position behind thorax. A 38-year-old male presented as a with right-sided pseudoaneurysm emanating from distal innominate after falling three-story building. On imaging, he also had bovine arch. He underwent hybrid repair covered stent placement common carotid into artery, carotid-subclavian bypas...

INTRODUCTION Neurological injury remains the major cause of morbidity and mortality following open aortic arch repair. Systemic hypothermia along with antegrade cerebral perfusion (ACP) is the accepted cerebral protection approach, with axillary artery cannulation being the most common technique used to establish ACP. More recently, innominate artery cannulation has been shown to be a safe and ...
