In this work, we analyze how the linguistic labels of a linguistic variable can be a useful tool in the L-Fuzzy Concept Theory. In concrete, we study the L-Fuzzy concepts obtained from a departure set represented by means of these linguistic labels applied to the set of objects or attributes. We also illustrate the results by means of an example.

The concepts of Soft Computing introduced by Lotfi A. Zadeh in 1991 has integrated different methodologies and approaches, as: fuzzy set theory, fuzzy logic, approximate reasoning, linguistic expression of knowledge, probabilistic reasoning, and others for solving problems of complex systems in the way similar to human perception, recognition and solving problem methods. Linguistic fuzzy modell...

Ontology has a powerful expressive ability on knowledge. In order to share and deal with the fuzzy knowledge on the semantic web, the linguistic variable ontology is proposed as the basis of the Flu Fuzzy Diagnosis System. After that, Protégé is introduced to build the fuzzy rule base. The paper concludes that linguistic variable ontology-based fuzzy diagnosis system can achieve the function of...

By a linguistic variable we mean a variable whose values are words or sentences in a natural or artificial language. I:or example, Age is a linguistic variable if its values are linguistic rather than numerical, i.e., young, not young, very young, quite young, old, not very oldand not very young, etc., rather than 20, 21, 22, 23, In more specific terms, a linguistic variable is characterized by...

This paper proposes a model for the parametric representation of linguistic hedges in Zadeh’s fuzzy logic. In this model each linguistic truth-value, which is generated from a primary term of the linguistic truth variable, is identified by a real number r depending on the primary term. It is shown that the model yields a method of efficiently computing linguistic truth expressions accompanied w...

The interests of web users can be revealed by their visited web pages and time duration on these web pages during their surfing. Time duration on a web page is characterized as a fuzzy linguistic variable because linguistic variable makes users easily understand the expression of time duration and can disregard subtle difference between two time durations. Each web access pattern from web logs ...

The multi-attribute decision making problem engages in the propagation of information, which often is highly uncertain or imprecise. Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (CMAC) belongs to the family of feed-forward networks with a single linear trainable layer. CMAC has the feature of fast learning, and is suitable for modeling any non-linear relationship. Combining fuzzy linguistic semanti...

In group decision making with linguistic information, the decision makers (DMs) usually provide their assessment information by means of linguistic variables. In some situations, however, the DMs may provide fuzzy linguistic information because of time pressure, lack of knowledge, and their limited attention and information processing capabilities. In this paper, we introduce the concepts of tr...

In this paper, we investigate multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems where decision makers represent their evaluation of alternatives by trapezoidal fuzzy two-dimensional uncertain linguistic variable. To begin with, we introduce the definition, properties, expectation, operational laws of trapezoidal fuzzy two-dimensional linguistic information. Then, to improve the accuracy...

In [13], an algebraic approach to the natural structure of domains of linguistic variables was introduced. In this approach, every linguistic domain can be interpreted as an algebraic structure called a hedge algebra. In this paper, a refinement structure of hedge algebras based on free distributive lattices generated by linguistic hedge operations will be examined in order to model structure o...
