Objective: To observe the clinical effects of minimally invasive puncture and borehole drainage for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma. Methods: 100 chronic subdural hematoma patients were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group. The observation group was given minimally invasive puncture. The control group was given borehole drainage. Indexes and total effecti...

Background: Biloma is a rare abnormal localized accumulation of bile out of biliary tree due to an injury that occurs usually postoperatively from an injured cystic or bile duct. While most bilomas collect in the subhepatic space, we describe a rare case of hepatic subcapsular biloma after laparoscopic cholecystectomy and ERCP which was done one week after surgery successfully treated by p...

a modified model has been analytically developed to describe the induction time of an elliptic air bubble in contact with an elliptic hydrophobic oil droplet. the role of hydrophobicity was revealed in the slippage of liquid over the surfaces of bubble and droplet. in this condition, the analytical relationships for pressure distribution and consequently hydrodynamic resistance force through th...

Liquid-gas front propagation in disordered media exhibits unique behavior during a repeated series of drainage-imbibition displacements. Such complex can be simplified to single mesa-shaped defect, which provides new insight into the collective at macro-scale. We show how morphological difference imbibition and drainage is affected by capillary number wetting properties.

When liquid is added to a foam at sufficiently large flow rates, convective bubble motion will occur. Experiments are described in which the foam is confined in a tube which is tilted from the vertical. The theory of foam drainage is applied to this problem to show that the critical angle of tilt theta(c) at which convection occurs is related to the liquid flow-rate Q by theta(c) proportional t...

We present results from an experimental study of the impact of liquid drops onto powder beds which are pre-wetted with the impacting liquid. Using high-speed video imaging, we study both the dynamics of the initial spreading regime and drainage times once the drop has reached its maximum spread on the surface. During the initial spreading stage, we compare our experimental data to a previously ...

OBJECTIVES To report the case and iconography of a lymphocele after renal transplantation and to review the literature about the diagnosis and the treatment of this surgical complication. METHODS 69 year-old woman status post renal transplantation who presents right lower extremity edema and worsening renal function. A liquid collection was demonstrated by ultrasound and computerized tomograp...

This paper concerns the drainage of a thin liquid lamella into a Plateau border. Many models for draining soap films assume that their gas-liquid interfaces are effectively immobile. Such models predict a phenomenon known as “marginal pinching”, in which the film tends to pinch in the margin between the lamella and the Plateau border. We analyse the opposite extreme, in which the gas-liquid int...
