Smart graphics can be beneficial beyond the level of the user interface. A synergistic combination of artificial intelligence methods and image processing techniques can be useful in permitting intelligent interaction with graphical representations at the processing level as well. An example of such a combination is explored in the context of a diagrammatic information system.
The aim of this paper is to introduce a new approach to Mathematical Morphology based on neutrosophic set theory. Basic definitions for neutrosophic morphological operations are extracted and a study of its algebraic properties is presented. In our work we demonstrate that neutrosophic morphological operations inherit properties and restrictions of Fuzzy Mathematical Morphology.
This talk presents our researches on the application of mathematical morphology, which is a mathematical framework of quatitative image manipulations, to the characterization and manipulation of textures. A texture is considered as a repetitive arrangement of homothetic magnifications of a small object called primitive. The shape and arrangement of the primitive are estimated by a method based ...
We describe our partially completed work on a set of morphological algorithms for recognizing handwritten numerals. The basic morphological operations { dilation, erosion, opening and closing { are used to extract characteristic features of these characters and check for their appropriate topological con guration. The paper describes the key shape characterization for two groups containing a to...
For a variety of mapping applications, images are the most important primary data sources. In photogrammetry and remote sensing, particular procedures are used for image and map data integration in order to perform change detection and automatic object extraction. The recognition of an object in an image is a complex task that involves a broad range of techniques. In general, three steps are us...
DNA chips (i.e., microarrays) biotechnology is a hybridization (i.e., DNA matching) based process that makes possible to quantify the relative abundance of mRNA from two distinct samples by analysing their fluorescence signals. This technique requires robotic placement (i.e., spotting) of thousands of cDNAs (i.e., complementary DNA) in an array format on glass microscope slides which provide ge...
