We present results of the first fully dynamical lattice QCD determination of nucleon-nucleon scattering lengths in the 1S0 channel and 3S1 - 3D1 coupled channels. The calculations are performed with domain-wall valence quarks on the MILC staggered configurations with a lattice spacing of b = 0.125 fm in the isospin-symmetric limit, and in the absence of electromagnetic interactions.

We study transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions (TMDs) with non-local operators in lattice QCD, using MILC/LHPC lattices. We discuss the basic concepts of the method, including renormalization of the gauge link. Results obtained with a simplified operator geometry show visible dipole deformations of spin-dependent quark momentum densities.

We give a progress report on studies of B s and B d mixing with valence NRQCD b quarks and asq-tad light quarks on the MILC configurations including the effect of 2+1 flavours of sea quarks. We explore methods for reducing statistical and systematic errors in the ratio ξ = f B s B B s / f B d B B d .

We present results for the mass spectrum of charm and bottom heavy baryons, using MILC coarse lattice configurations with 2+1 flavors. Clover heavy quark propagators with the Fermilab interpretation and improved staggered light quark propagators are used to construct two point functions with local operators for different flavor and spin states.

Using the parameters in the chiral Lagrangian obtained by MILC from their unquenched lattice QCD calculations with 2+1 flavours of sea quarks, I estimate the chiral condensate. I obtain the result 〈ψψ〉(2 GeV)/nf = −(259 ± 27 MeV) in the MS scheme. I compare this value to other determinations.

Since the development of the Beowulf project to build a parallel computer from commodity PC components, there have been many such clusters built. The MILC QCD code has been run on a variety of clusters and supercomputers. Key design features are identified, and the cost effectiveness of clusters and supercomputers are compared.
