Children with cerebral palsy frequently walk with excessive internal rotation of the hip. Spastic medial hamstrings or adductors are presumed to contribute to the excessive internal rotation in some patients; however, the capacity of these muscles to produce internal rotation during walking in individuals with cerebral palsy has not been adequately investigated. The purpose of this study was to...

3-D curve moments and curve moment invariants under similarity transformation are defined in this paper. 3-D curve moment invariants can be used as shape descriptors for the representation of parametric curves. We use them to describe some commonly used parametric curves and test the invariance of them in the experiment.

The purpose of this article is to compare the effect reverse shoulder design philosophy has on the lengths and moment arms of the external rotators of the shoulder (i.e. posterior deltoid, infraspinatus, and teres minor). In this study, a single bone model was used to normalize the origin and insertion of each muscle. Four different commercially available designs were virtually implanted into t...

Persons with cerebral palsy frequently walk with a crouched, internally rotated gait. Spastic medial hamstrings or adductors are presumed to contribute to excessive hip internal rotation in some patients; however, the capacity of these muscles to produce internal rotation has not been adequately investigated. The purpose of this study was to determine the hip rotation moment arms of the medial ...

The aim of this study was to compare shoulder muscle force and moment production during external rotation performed in the transverse and sagittal planes. An optimization model was used for estimating shoulder muscle force production of infraspinatus, teres minor, supraspinatus, anterior deltoid, middle deltoid and posterior deltoid muscles. The model uses as input data the external rotation mo...

We study isotropic and slowly-rotating stars made of dark energy adopting the extended Chaplygin equation-of-state. compute moment inertia as a function mass stars, both for rotating non-rotating objects. The solution non-diagonal metric component radial coordinate three different star masses is shown well. find that (i) increases with star, (ii) in case objects grows faster, (iii) curve corres...

The problem of the independence and completeness of rotation moment invariants is addressed in this paper. First, a general method for constructing invariants of arbitrary orders by means of complex moments is described. As a major contribution of the paper, it is shown that for any set of invariants there exists a relatively small basis by means of which all other invariants can be generated. ...
