Influence of distributed generation systems in the distribution systems can increase the level of short-circuit current. The effectiveness of distributed generation systems is affected by the size, location, type of distributed generation systems technology, and the methods of connecting to distribution systems. Wind turbine system is the examples of distributed generation source. Not only does...

BACKGROUND Studies of the normal zone in high-temperature superconducting wires are extremely important for power applications, such as fault current limiters, motors, cables etc. We studied the temperature distribution and normal domain propagation in high-temperature superconducting YBCO tape with highly resistive substrate. FINDINGS For applied voltages exceeding a certain threshold value ...

The impedance and the longitudinal wake eld in a superconducting beam pipe are derived. At low frequencies, this impedance is purely inductive, while at higher frequencies it approaches the resistive-wall impedance of a normal conductor. For very short bunches, the resistive heating of the beam pipe can induce quenches of the superconductor.
