The dielectric permittivity and losses of composites containing silicon rubber and multiwall carbon nanotubes decorated with gold were measured on wide temperature and frequency ranges. The permittivity decreases with increasing temperatures, increases with increasing nanotube mass concentration, and has weak frequency dependence. The losses depend non-uniformly on temperature and frequency.

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the repeatability of the digitizing of silicon rubber impressions of abutment teeth by using a white light scanner and compare differences in repeatability between different abutment teeth types. MATERIALS AND METHODS Silicon rubber impressions of a canine, premolar, and molar tooth were each digitized 8 times using a white light scanner, and 3D s...

Abstract Silicone rubber (SR) materials play a crucial role in the field of mechanical impact protection technology. However, adhesive stability between SR and various substrates actual application process is still challenging task. The surface free energy about 19.9 mJ/m 2 , which can directly lead to fall off peel during process. In present study, new type bifunctional polyborosiloxane interf...

The deformed structure of silica-filled elastomers under uniaxial strain has been investigated using a combination of both small angle x-ray scattering and small angle neutron scattering methods. Using an extraction procedure and taking into account the two-phase nature of these polymer-based composites, the single chain scattering behavior as well as filler properties could be obtained uniquel...

The housing of zinc oxide lightning arresters are playing major role for discharging the lightning surges. Previously porcelain and silicon rubber housings were mainly used depending on the atmospheric conditions but in practice a lot of problems are faced with these housing. Hence this paper presenting the ZnO blocks performance characterizes with different dielectrics such as air, transformer...

We propose a new method for estimating the contact state of objects with varying shapes on a vision‐ based fluid‐type tactile sensor, which touch pad is an elastic transparent membrane of silicon rubber with dotted pattern printed on its inner side. The membrane is filled with translucent red colored water. The proposed method leads to better understanding of the...

This paper presents a unique design for tactile sensing: embedding as many receptors as possible randomly in soft material so as to provide different kinds of sensing modalities. Based on this design principle, an anthropomorphic fingertip has been developed. The fingertip consists of two silicon rubber layers of different hardness containing two kinds of receptors, strain gauges and PVDF (poly...

We study the adhesion between smooth polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) rubber balls and smooth and rough poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) surfaces, and between smooth silicon nitride balls and smooth PDMS surfaces. From the measured viscoelastic modulus of the PDMS rubber we calculate the viscoelastic contribution to the crack-opening propagation energy γeff(v,T) for a wide range of crack tip velocit...
