We report the sonochemical synthesis of copper(I) hydride (CuH) by the ultrasonic irradiation of a copper(II) aqueous solution. A reaction mechanism based on the reduction of copper(II) by the ultrasound-generated hydrogen atoms is discussed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a metal hydride has been synthesized through sonochemistry.

zno nanostructures of different methods and sizes were grown in a controlled manner using a simple hydrothermal and sonochemical technique. controlling the content of concentration and temperature of the reaction mixture, spherical nanoparticles zno structures could be synthesized at temperatures 100-150 °c with excellent reproducibility in solvothermal and at different power and time in sonoch...

ultrasonic technology as an innovative technology may be used for water and wastewater treatment for pollution removal. this technology acts as an advanced oxidation process. application of this technology leads to the decomposition of many complex organic compounds to much simpler compounds during physical and chemical compounds during cavitation process. in this article review, some applica...

We study a class of acoustic metamaterials formed by layers of perforated plates and producing negative refraction and backward propagation of sound. A slab of such material is shown to act as a perfect acoustic lens, yielding images with subwavelength resolution over large distances. Our study constitutes a nontrivial extension of similar concepts from optics to acoustics, capable of sustainin...

When a liquid is subjected to high-intensity ultrasound, bubbles are formed, grow, and implosively collapse. This phenomenon of acoustic cavitation generates both chemical reactions (i.e., sonochemistry) and the emission of light (i.e., sonoluminescence, SL). It is generally agreed that both sonochemistry and sonoluminescence result from the intense compressional heating of gas and vapor inside...
