EEG source imaging enables us to reconstruct current density in the brain from the electrical measurements with excellent temporal resolution (~ ms). The corresponding EEG inverse problem is an ill-posed one that has infinitely many solutions. This is due to the fact that the number of EEG sensors is usually much smaller than that of the potential dipole locations, as well as noise contaminatio...

We report hydrogen storage at an ordinary pressure due to a bottle-neck effect of an ultramicroporous crystal. Stored hydrogen was kept at an ordinary pressure below -110 °C. The amounts of stored hydrogen gas linearly correlated with the initial pressures. These phenomena suggested the ultramicroporous tunnels worked as a molecular gas cylinder.

The study was undertaken to assess the airway function and its response to carbachol and salbutamol in infants recovering from wheezy bronchitis. In 82 children aged 3-33 mths, free from wheeze at the time of testing, and in 14 healthy infants, airway resistance (Raw) and thoracic gas volume (TGV) were measured using a body plethysmograph. Specific airway resistance (sRaw = Raw x TGV) was calcu...

LLE Review, Volume 89 25 Introduction As part of the U.S. Inertial Confinement Fusion Program, LLE plans to implode deuterium–tritium (DT)–charged microspheres. These microspheres are filled with high-pressure deuterium and tritium gas under cryogenic conditions. The spheres are then stored and transferred as needed to the target chamber (located in an adjacent room) under vacuum and at tempera...

The method here described permits the sampling, transfer, and deter mination of respiratory gases in approximately 0.35 cmm. samples with errors not greater than ~0.2 volume per cent and in 0.07 c.mm. samples with errors not greater than ~0.5 volume per cent. It will handle up to 100 per cent absorbable gases. The analysis takes 4 to 6 minutes. The method is useful in general when only a minute...

At low pressure, ethylene gas consists of single translating and rotating molecules and behaves as an ideal gas. With decrease of free volume by compression, various rotating supramolecular particles are formed, which require less space for the movement: molecular pairs, bimolecules and oligomolecules. The appearance of a new kind of particles is manifested as a phase transition of the second o...

BACKGROUND Results of arterial blood gas analysis can be biased by pre-analytical factors, such as time interval before analysis, temperature during storage and syringe type. OBJECTIVES To investigate the effects of samples storage temperature and time delay on blood gases, bicarbonate and PH results in human arterial blood samples. PATIENTS AND METHODS 2.5 mL arterial blood samples were dr...

Abstract As the associated gas of tight reservoirs, natural is abundant and noncorrosive, which more suitable for development oil reservoirs in China. However, mechanism injection unclear, channeling serious after fracturing. The water-alternating-gas (WAG) flooding an effective means to delay improve recovery. Therefore, it significant clarify preventing recovering by water-alternation-natural...

High-pressure gas jets of neon and argon are used to mitigate the three principal damaging effects of tokamak disruptions: thermal loading of the divertor surfaces, vessel stress from poloidal halo currents and the buildup and loss of relativistic electrons to the wall. The gas jet penetrates as a neutral species through to the central plasma at its sonic velocity. The injected gas atoms increa...

effect of water gas shift reaction (co+h2o=co2+h2) on wustite reduction has been investigated by a transient, non-isothermal mathematical model based on grain model. in this model, wustite porous pellet is reduced using syngas, namely a mixture of hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and water vapor. for this purpose, governing equations containing continuity equation of species and energy...
