The CODA 8-Channel High Throughput Non-Invasive Blood Pressure system measures the blood pressure in up to 8 mice or rats simultaneously. The CODA tail-cuff system uses Volume Pressure Recording (VPR) to measure the blood pressure by determining the tail blood volume. A specially designed differential pressure transducer and an occlusion tail-cuff measure the total blood volume in the tail with...
This note reports a complete loss of tail in young female Richardson's ray Bathyraja richardsoni. Some morphometric measurements are provided and compared with those of normal females of similar size. We suggest this loss of tail is result of predation on this specimen during juvenile state.
Under certain conditions, high temperature electrons diusing across the separatrix near the midplane can propagate to the divertor without collision and produce a high energy tail in the electron distribution function near the separatrix. We evaluate a kinetic criterion along the ®eld using measurements from divertor Thomson scattering and compare temperature measurements from target plate Lan...
Suppression of head-tail effects on turn-by-turn BPM measurements V. Lebedev The study carried out for BLT proved that the head-tail motion excited by the machine chromaticity could seriously affect the performance of turn-by-turn BPM measurements. In this paper I consider how this problem can be alleviated for new Tevatron BPMs. Let us consider the case when the bunch, which initially was on t...
BACKGROUND Reliable measurement of blood pressure in conscious mice is essential in cardiovascular research. Telemetry, the "gold-standard" technique, is invasive and expensive and therefore tail-cuff, a noninvasive alternative, is widely used. However, tail-cuff requires handling and restraint during measurement, which may cause stress affecting blood pressure and undermining reliability of th...
Abstract In the frame of CleanSky 2 MONNALISA project, a wind-tunnel campaign is planned to test tail-plane model large passenger aircraft by using different measurement techniques. Wind-tunnel results obtained over systematic series geometries will be used thoroughly validate low-order numerical method based on physical modelling that developed in project evaluate non-linear aerodynamic charac...
We used the many-lined sun skink (Mabuya multifasciata) as a model system to evaluate the energetic and locomotor costs of tail loss, and to examine whether tailless skinks compensate for the costs of tail loss by increasing feeding rate or digestive efficiency. We successively removed three tail segments from each of the 20 experimental skinks initially having intact tails. Energy content in e...
