The presence and bioavailability of potentially toxic elements in the soil–plant system are major limitations to application compost agricultural soils. In this study, content changes nutrients four organic wastes, namely household waste, sewage sludge, chicken manure, cow/sheep were analyzed during composting, quality products was assessed view their impact on environment. objective study dete...

The fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe was sensitive to salinity; cell growth was stopped by 0.5 M NaCl and by 10 mM LiCl. The avt5+ gene encodes a vacuolar transporter with a broad specificity for amino acids. We found that the avt5Delta mutant became highly tolerant of Li+ and Na+ in growth. Concanamycin A-sensitive Li+ uptake as well as cellular Li+ content was lower in the avt5 mutant,...

We present an elemental abundance analysis for four newly discovered ultra metal-poor stars from the Hamburg/ESO survey, with [Fe/H] −4. Based on high-resolution, high signal-to-noise spectra, we derive abundances for 17 elements in the range from Li to Ba. Three of the four stars exhibit moderate to large overabundances of carbon, but have no enhancements in their neutron-capture elements. The...

Geologic and pedologic controls are the main factors determining the distribution of elements in natural soil environments. In order to assess the role of these factors in the content and distribution of major elements of soil, six parent materials including phyllite (Ph), tonalite (To), periditite (Pe), dolerite (Do), shale (Sh) and limestone (Li) were selected in Fuman-Masule region. Soil gen...

Lithium (Li(+)) affects the physiology of cells from a broad range of organisms including plants and both vertebrate and invertebrate animals. Although its effects result presumably from changes in gene expression elicited by its interaction with intracellular signal transduction pathways, the molecular mechanisms of Li(+) action are not well understood. The biflagellate green alga Chlamydomona...

A ll transition metals are highly toxic to life at low levels, but at the same time some, such as manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc and molybdenum, are essential micronutrients needed to catalyse key enzymatic reactions. To survive, living organisms have had to evolve mechanisms that either remove such metals from their bodies or detoxify and make use of them metabolically. Many of ...

background: in addition to gas pollutants, many chemicals and air pollutants are in the form of particulate matter. particulate matter consists of a complex mixture of variable sized particles and physicochemical composition. these particles mainly contain minerals including fe, al, ca, k, cu, ti, mn, ni, v and their size, chemical composition and concentration are important to assess the exten...

cultural iran is a scope that is more extended than the political territories of iran as a political unit. this concept means that cultural geography(mehdi moghanlo-1383-1) of iran is greater than its political geography which, according to history, has a long history extending west-east from kandahar to the euphrates and north-south from the persian gulf to the caucasus including transoxiana a...
