To understand the molecular interactions between N,N-dimethylformamide with two families of ionic liquids, the thermophysical properties such as densities and ultrasonic sound speeds have been measured over the entire composition range at 25 C under atmospheric pressure. The materials investigated in the present study include two families of ionic liquids, viz., ammonium salts and imidazolium s...

A new technique was established to identify eight organophosphate esters (OPEs) in this work. It utilised dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction in combination with ultrahigh performance liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry. The type and volume of extraction solvents, dispersion agent, and amount of NaCl were optimized. The target analytes were detected in the range of 1.0-200 µ g/L...

Limits of detection (LODs) in ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) strictly depend on ionization of the analyte. Especially challenging is ionization of compounds with relatively low proton affinity (PA) such as aromatic compounds. To change the course of ion-molecule reactions and enhance the performance of the IMS spectrometer, substances called dopants are introduced into the carrier gas. In this...

In this communication, we present the ability of water and a protic ionic liquid, triethyl ammonium phosphate (TEAP) to act as refolding additives for the urea-induced chemical denaturated state of the two enzymes, α-chymotrypsin and succinylated Con A. We show that the enzymatic activity is regained and in certain circumstances enhanced.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, C(6)H(16)N(+)·C(20)H(12)O(4)P(-), an N-H⋯O inter-action links the cation to the anion. The N atom in the triethyl-ammonium cation exhibits a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry and forms an N-H⋯O inter-action with one phosphate O atom of the 1,1'-binaphthyl-2,2'-diyl phosphate ligand. A bifurcated C-H⋯O inter-action with the other phosphate...

In view the of wide scope of structural information of biomolecules in biocompatible ionic liquids (ILs) in various applications including chemical and biochemical, it is essential to study the productive preferential interactions between biological macromolecules and biocompatible ILs. We have therefore explored the stability and activity of α-chymotrypsin (CT) in the presence of five ILs from...

Phosphotriesterase (PTE) from Pseudomonas diminuta catalyzes the detoxification of organophosphates such as the widely utilized insecticide paraoxon and the chemical warfare agent sarin. The three-dimensional structure of the enzyme is known from high resolution x-ray crystallographic analyses. Each subunit of the homodimer folds into a so-called TIM barrel, with eight strands of parallel beta-...

The abundance and size distribution of transparent exopolymeric particles (TEP) were monitored in the Kattegat (Denmark) during 1 yr. TEP number concentration ranged from 0.5 X 105 to 3.8 X 105 ml-' and the volume concentration between 3 and 310 ppm. TEP volume concentration peaked during the spring bloon~ and again during the summer period. The observed accun~ulation of TEP during summer is co...
