Rotational excitations of compact Q-balls in the complex signum-Gordon model in 2+1 dimensions are investigated. We find that almost all such spinning Q-balls have the form of a ring of strictly finite width. In the limit of large angular momentum Mz their energy is proportional to |Mz|. Analogous to DNA and histone modifications, RNA molecules are chemically modified, the study of which gives rise field called epitranscriptomics. Among these N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation is most abundant internal modification in messenger (mRNA) non-coding eukaryotic cells, regulates metabolism, including decay, translation nuclear processing. However, regulatory functional role m6A ski...

December1999 Symposium Paper May 2000 final, revised version for IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science: July 13, 2001 This work was supported through the CRADA BG98-084(01) of the ER-LTR Program of the U.S. Department of Energy, under Contract No. DE-AC03-76SF00098, by CVC-Veeco, Inc., the CRADA Industrial Partner, by the National Storage Industry Consortium (NSIC), and the Computer Mechanics Lab...
Few reports from Africa suggest that resistance pattern, virulence factors and genotypes differ between Staphylococcus aureus from nasal carriage and clinical infection. We therefore compared antimicrobial resistance, selected virulence factors and genotypes of S. aureus from nasal carriage and clinical infection in Southwest Nigeria. Non-duplicate S. aureus isolates were obtained from infectio...
Sigma-1 receptor (Sig-1R) is an integral membrane protein predominantly expressed in the endoplasmic reticulum. Sig-1R demonstrates a high affinity to various synthetic compounds including well-known psychotherapeutic drugs in the central nervous system (CNS). For that, it is considered as an alternative target for psychotherapeutic drugs. On the cellular level, when Sig-1R is activated, it is ...
The sigma1 ( 1) receptor represents a unique intracellular neuronal protein modulating several neurotransmitter responses with relevant effects on cognitive functions. We examined here its expression and behavioral efficacy during aging. The 1 receptor expression was examined in young (2 months old) and aged (24 months old) C57BL/6 mouse brain using comparative RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. ...
