It is proved that there exist complemented subspaces of countable topo-logical products (locally convex direct sums) of Banach spaces which cannot be represented as topological products (locally convex direct sums) of Banach spaces The problem of description of complemented subspaces of a given locally convex space is one of the general problems of structure theory of locally convex spaces. Let X be a normed linear space, and let S(X) = fx 2 X : kxk = 1g be the unit sphere of X. Brodskii and Milman 1] introduced the following geometric concept: Deenition 1. A bounded, convex subset K of a Banach space X is said to have normal structure if every convex subset H of K that contains more than one point contains a point x 0 2 H, such that supfkx 0 ? yk : y 2 Hg < d(H); where d(H) = sup...

In this paper we first take a detail survey of the study of the Banach-Saks property of Banach spaces and then show the Banach-Saks property of the product spaces generated by a finite number of Banach spaces having the Banach-Saks property. A more general inequality for integrals of a class of composite functions is also given by using this property.

Let $C$ be a nonempty closed convex subset of a real Banach space $E$, let $B: C rightarrow E $ be a nonlinear map, and let  $u, v$ be  positive numbers. In this paper, we show  that  the generalized variational inequality $V I (C, B)$ is singleton for $(u, v)$-cocoercive mappings under appropriate assumptions on Banach spaces. The main results are extensions of the Saeidi's Propositions for fi...

Weighted composition operators appear in the study of dynamical systems and also in characterizing isometries of some classes of Banach spaces. One of the most important generalizations of weighted composition operators, are generalized weighted composition operators which in special cases of their inducing functions give different types of well-known operators like: weighted composition operat...

Many familiar and useful spaces of continuous or differentiable functions are Hilbert or Banach spaces, with pleasant completeness properties, but many are not. Some are Fréchet spaces, thus still complete, but lacking some of the conveniences of Banach spaces. Some other important spaces are not Fréchet, either. Still, some of these important spaces are colimits of Fréchet spaces (or of Banach...

We show that if a separable Banach space Z contains isometric copies of every strictly convex separable Banach space, then Z actually contains an isometric copy of every separable Banach space. We prove that if Y is any separable Banach space of dimension at least 2, then the collection of separable Banach spaces which contain an isometric copy of Y is analytic non Borel.

A Banach space is injective (resp. a (Pi space) if every isomorphic (resp. isometric) imbedding of it in an arbitrary Banach space Y is the range of a bounded (resp. norm-one) linear projection defined on Y. In §1 we study linear topological properties of injective Banach spaces and the spaces C(S) themselves; in §2 we study their conjugate spaces. (Throughout, " S " denotes an arbitrary compac...
