In almost all of the currently working circuits, especially in analog circuits implementing signal processing applications, basic arithmetic operations such as multiplication, addition, subtraction and division are performed on values which are represented by voltages or currents. However, in this paper, we propose a new and simple method for performing analog arithmetic operations which in thi...

This work evaluates the ability of OBT for detecting parametric faults in continuous-time filters. To this end, we adopt two filters with quite different topologies as cases of study and a previously reported statistical fault model. In addition, we explore the behavior of the test schemes when a particular test condition is changed. The new data reported here, obtained from a fault simulation ...

Three different but complementary approaches to higher-level specification of analog circuits are proposed as a set of extensions to SPICElike circuit simulators. They include table-driven, formuladriven and program-driven generalized characteristics of (nonlinear) circuit elements as well as whole “blocks”. Examples of SPICEPAC enhancements are used as an illustration of these approaches.

A technique is introduced to enable the simulation of floating-gate transistors within standard analogue circuit simulators, such as SPICE. This technique can be used in all types of circuit simulations, ranging from DC sweeps to charge-modification scenarios. The technique is then used to simulate several analogue circuits, the results of which show strong agreement with identical circuits fab...

We review di4erent applications of silicon conductance-based neuron models implemented on analog circuits. At the single-cell level, we describe a circuit in which conductances are programmed to simulate various Hodgkin–Huxley type models; integrated in a hardware/software system, they provide a simulation tool; an illustrative example is the simulation of bursting neurons of the thalamus. At t...

Analog circuits and systems are by nature sensitive to parameter deviations. These variations cause a system behavior differing from the nominal constructed property. In this paper, we discuss and demonstrate the applicability of Affine Arithmetic for analyzing the impact of parameter deviations and uncertainties on system parameters. Affine Arithmetic allows us to model deviations and uncertai...

An analog circuit synthesis method based on evolutionary circuit techniques is proposed where the chromosome in the genetic algorithm is coded through the use of adjacency matrices. The method assumes that the circuit is described at the behavioral level in order to reduce the simulation time. It is shown that adjacency matrices coding of the chromosome reduces considerably the number of anomal...

A method of selective SVM ensemble base on clustering analysis is presented in this paper. Then it is applied in analog circuit fault diagnosis with small samples. The method overcomes disadvantages of single SVM and greatly improves the generation ability for problems with small samples. In the end of paper, simulation experiments on a CTSV filter circuit are carried out. Experimental results ...

A novel method is introduced to compute symbolic expressions in analog circuits modeled by nullors. The proposed method is based on the formulation of a compact system of equations (CSEs) by manipulation of data-structures, which highly improves traditional symbolic-methods. It is demonstrated that by modeling all active devices using nullors, the CSEs is easily formulated by manipulation of bo...

Cascaded delta-sigma (MASH) converters offer a good compromise between high accuracy, robust stability and speed. However, they are very sensitive to analog circuit imperfections. This paper presents an improved adaptive on-line digital compensation of these errors. Behavioral and circuitlevel simulations have confirmed an achievable 13-bit performance and 6-MHz bandwidth for the proposed ADC.
