In traditional batch-service queueing systems, the mean service time of batches are generally assumed to be constant. However, in numerous applications this assumption may not appropriate. telecommunication networks, transmission rates depend on number packets batch which can framed as batch-size-dependent queue. The objective paper is focus both queue and server content distribution an infinit...

In teletraffic engineering, the effective design of wireless networks providing voice and data services at hot spots is of great practical importance. This paper presents a model of such networks in terms of a BMAP/ PH/N retrial queue. Due to the batch occurrence and high correlation of the traffic, it is decisive to choose the correct Batch Markovian Arrival (BMAP) representation of the empiri...

Flexible manufacturing system (FMS) readily addresses the dynamic needs of the customers in terms of variety and quality. At present, there is a need to produce a wide range of quality products in limited time span. On-time delivery of customers’ orders is critical in make-to-order (MTO) manufacturing systems. The completion time of the orders depends on several factors including arrival rate, ...

We recently developed a new algorithm for calculating the blocking probability of each class in resource-sharing models with upper limit and guaranteed minimum sharing policies as well as the standard complete-sharing policy. These models may have multiple resources and multiple classes, with each class requiring multiple units from each resource. These models may also have state-dependent arri...

We assess the performance of a partially shared bottleneck buffer for scalable video. The arrival process of the video packets is modelled by means of a two-class discrete batch Markovian arrival process. Using a matrix-analytic approach, we retrieve various performance measures. We illustrate our approach by means of a numerical example.

In this paper, we identify the batch Markovian arrival process (BMAP) as analytically tractable model of choice for aggregated traffic modeling of IP networks. The key idea of this aggregated traffic model lies in customizing the batch Markovian arrival process such that the different lengths of IP packets are represented by rewards (i.e., batch sizes of arrivals) of the BMAP. The utilization o...
