We have modelled and used polarisation spectroscopy to lock a very compact, high-performance extended cavity diode 85 Ž X . laser system to the Rb Fs3 to F s4 transition. The laser has a linewidth of 135 kHz. Using this system we have trapped and cooled 1.5=10 Rb atoms in a magneto-optical trap. Atoms remained continuously trapped in the MOT for several minutes. q 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All...

One of the most important pest in the Oak forest of Kurdistan province is Oak leaf roller moth, Tortrix viridana L. (Lep.: Tortricidae). Use of pheromone trap is one of the suitable methods for monitoring and controlling of the pest. In this work, three main factors which affect the efficiency of traps including trap type, pheromone dose and installation height trap were studied. Four types of ...

The faba bean (Vicia L.) is cultivated in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions only. It a rich source of protein an important food feed for human animal consumption. Faba beans have narrow genetic base their improvement through hybridization not feasible because high pollen self-incompatibility. This study was carried out using embryonic axis cv. introduction: telomeric repeat amplification protocol assay (trap assay) is a standard established technique to detect the activity (expression) of telomerase in the cancerous samples. it includes a time-consuming procedure that has significant drawbacks such as high cost, complicacy, time-consuming procedure, equipment-dependent steps and false-positive signals caused by inclusion of pcr insid...

Hydrogen and deuterium Rydberg atoms, initially moving at velocities of 600 m/s and 560 m/s, respectively, in pulsed supersonic beams, have been decelerated and electrostatically trapped following adiabatic 90◦ deflection from their initial axis of propagation to minimise collisions with the trailing edge of the gas pulses. The time evolution of the potential energy surfaces, over which the ato...

A new method for the manipulation of a pre-excited l=1 diocotron mode in a pure electron plasma in a Malmberg-Penning trap is proposed and analyzed. The plasma is passively coupled to an external oscillatory circuit with slowly varying parameters. A threshold on the coupling strength is derived beyond which the plasma is continuously self-phase-locked to the external circuit. In the case of a l...

We present the design, implementation and characterization of a dual-species magneto-optical trap (MOT) for fermionic Li and K atoms with large atom numbers. The MOT simultaneously contains 5.2 × 10 Li-atoms and 8.0 × 10 K-atoms, which are continuously loaded by a Zeeman slower for Li and a 2D-MOT for K. The atom sources induce capture rates of 1.2 × 10 Li-atoms/s and 1.4 × 10 K-atoms/s. Trap l...

In this work a family of quantum nondemolition variables for the case of a particle caught in a Paul trap is obtained. Afterwards, in the context of the so called restricted path integral formalism, a continuous measuring process for this family of parameters is considered, and then the corresponding propagators are calculated. In other words, the time evolution of a particle in a Paul trap, wh...

Ultracold dysprosium gases, with a magnetic moment 10 times that of alkali atoms and equal only to terbium as the most magnetic atom, are expected to exhibit a multitude of fascinating collisional dynamics and quantum dipolar phases, including quantum liquid crystal physics. We report the first laser cooling and trapping of half a billion Dy atoms using a repumper-free magneto-optical trap (MOT...

We experimentally investigate trap-loss spectra of the cesium 6 S 1/2 ( F = 4) → 71 P 3/2 Rydberg transition by combining atomic magneto-optical trap with narrow-linewidth, continuously tunable 318.6 nm ultraviolet laser. Specifically, atoms in are excited to state due laser single-step excitation, which leads reduction fluorescence. Based on spectroscopy technology, Autler–Townes (AT) splittin...
