Giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma is a rare benign tumor that evolves from the prostate gland. Obstructive voiding symptoms occur in all reported cases. These lesions do not invade adjacent structures. Preoperative radiologic evaluation can define the benign nature of the lesion. Here we report a case of large cystic lesions identified by magnetic resonance imaging and sonographic findin...

Mucinous cystadenoma of the testis is a very rare tumor. Herein, we report a case of mucinous cystadenoma arising in the testis of a 61-year-old man, along with a literature review. Computed tomography showed a 2.5-cm-sized poorly enhancing cystic mass. Grossly, the tumor was a unilocular cystic mass filled with mucinous material and confined to the testicular parenchyma. Histologically, the cy...

Mucinous cystadenoma of the appendix is a type of appendiceal mucocele and a rather rare condition usually found incidentally in the course of other abdominal surgery. A previous evaluation of 73 appendiceal mucoceles showed that this disease was often associated with adenocarcinoma and other epithelial atypia. This observation suggested that patients with mucinous cystadenoma of the appendix a...

Herein, we report a case of a solid-type serous cystadenoma of the pancreas which is the 16th case reported worldwide and the first ever reported in Greece. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a hypervascular mass in the tail of the pancreas of a 72-year-old female who presented with mild abdominal pain. Distal pancreatectomy was performed by laparotomy and histological and immunohistochemical ex...

The macrocystic variant of serous cystadenomas of the pancreas has only recently been described. We present a case of a 40 year-old female, who presented with vague indigestion. The cyst was unilocular, and was lined by simple cuboidal, ciliated serous type epithelium. Fine needle aspiration, immunohistochemical, light microscopic, and electron microscopic studies are discussed.

Mucinous cystadenoma is a rare benign neoplasm and is usually discovered incidentally. Pleuritis and pericarditis, inflammation of the pleura and pericardium, may represent manifestations of autoimmune disorders especially in female subjects. We report a patient with polyserositis that was resolved after removal of the mucinous cystadenoma. To the best of our knowledge, this is a first report d...

The study aimed to determine whether hereditary ovarian cancers that are not caused by BRCA1/BRCA2 constitutional mutations are associated with a predisposition to cystadenoma. The study consisted of two parts. Part one concerned the incidence of ovarian cystadenoma in females from families with hereditary ovarian cancer unassociated with BRCA1 mutations. The study group included 62 female pati...

A 16-year old female presented to hospital with abdominal pain. Features on computed tomography raised the possibility of biliary cystadenoma or cystadenocarcinoma. She underwent a liver resection, and histopathology confirmed a serous biliary cystadenoma. This case is presented to highlight the radiological features of this uncommon pre-malignant condition as well as to summarize a management ...
