The critical behaviour of anisotropic Heisenberg models with two kinds of antiferromagnetically exchange-coupled centers are studied numerically by using finite-size calculations and conformal invariance. These models exhibit the interesting property of ferrimagnetism instead of antiferromagnetism. Most of our results are centered in the mixed Heisenberg chain where we have at even (odd) sites ...

The design of high-temperature ferrimagnetic materials is highly demanded for next-generation functional spintronic devices. Here, we propose that the combination nonmetallic structural units and magnetic atoms an effective way to achieve magnetism in two-dimensional (2D) materials. predicted $\mathrm{Fe}{\mathrm{P}}_{4}$ monolayer, consisting quasisquare ${\mathrm{P}}_{4}$ units, shows intrins...

The magnetization measurements at 5 K were carried out for Ni2Mn1 − xCuxGa (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.40) and Ni2MnGa1 − yCuy (0 ≤ y ≤ 0.25) alloys. All of the magnetization curves are characteristic of ferromagnetism or ferrimagnetism. By using Arrott plot analysis the spontaneous magnetization of all samples was determined from the magnetization curves. The magnetic moment per formula unit, μs, at 5 K was es...

An ab initio linearized augmented plane-wave method has been employed to calculate the electronic and magnetic structures of both face-centered-cubic and body-centered-cubic Fe12xPdx alloys with x50.25, 0.50, and 0.75, respectively. Decreasing the Pd content in Fe12xPdx alloy from x51, the magnetic ordering of fcc Fe12xPdx changes from paramagnetism to ferromagnetism, ferrimagnetism, and finall...

Ferromagnetism is used to characterize magnetic behavior of a material, such as the strong attraction to a permanent magnet. The origin of this strong magnetism is the presence of a spontaneous magnetization which is produced by a parallel alignment of spins. Instead of a parallel alignment of all the spins, there can be an anti-parallel alignment of unequal spins. This results in a spontaneous...

ZnFe2O4 nanocomposites have been prepared by a simple co‐precipitation method. The prepared samples were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Powder X‐ray Diffraction (XRD), Energy Disperse X‐ray Analysis (EDX), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV‐visible absorption spectral techniques. Conductivity measurements show a transition from ferrimagnetism to...

The spinel MnV(2)O(4) is a two-sublattice ferrimagnet, with site A occupied by the Mn(2+) ion and site B by the V(3+) ion. The magnon of the system, the transversal fluctuation of the total magnetization, is a complicated mixture of the sublattice A and B transversal magnetic fluctuations. As a result, the magnons' fluctuations suppress in a different way the manganese and vanadium sublattice m...

Incomplete cancellation of collinear antiparallel spins gives rise to ferrimagnetism. Even if the oppositely polarized are owing equal number a single magnetic element having same valence state, in principle, ferrimagnetic state can still arise from crystallographic inequivalence host ions. However, experimental identification such as ``ferrimagnetic'' is not straightforward because often tiny ...
