Abstract Fusion frames are widely studied for their applications in recovering signals from large data. These proved to be very useful many areas, example, wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we discuss a generalization of fusion frames, K -fusion frames. provide decompositions Hilbert space into atomic subspaces with respect bounded linear operator. This article studies various kinds prop...

Fusion frames consist of a sequence of subspaces from a Hilbert space and corresponding positive weights so that the sum of weighted orthogonal projections onto these subspaces is an invertible operator on the space. Given a spectrum for a desired fusion frame operator and dimensions for subspaces, one existing method for creating unitweight fusion frames with these properties is the flexible a...

In this study, video super-resolution using particle swarm optimization (PSO) is proposed to super-resolve low-resolution (LR) frames. The proposed super-resolution method consists of three main modules, i.e., supersampling, spatio-temporal classification, and frame fusion using PSO. In the proposed method, the LR frames are super-resolved to high-resolution frames through the fusion of four fu...

Fusion frame theory is an emerging mathematical theory that provides a natural framework for performing hierarchical data processing. A fusion frame is a frame-like collection of subspaces in a Hilbert space, thereby generalizing the concept of a frame for signal representation. In this paper, we study the existence and construction of fusion frames. We first present a complete characterization...

The notion of frame has some generalizations such as frames of subspaces, fusion frames and g -frames. In this paper we introduce frames of submodules, fusion frames and g -frames in Hilbert C∗ -modules and we show that they share many useful properties with their corresponding notions in Hilbert space. We also generalize a perturbation result in frame theory to g -frames in Hilbert spaces.

In this paper we study the fusion frame potential, that is a generalization of the BenedettoFickus (vectorial) frame potential to the finite-dimensional fusion frame setting. Local and global minimizers of this potential are studied, when we restrict it to a suitable set of fusion frames. These minimizers are related to tight fusion frames as in the classical vector frame case. Still, tight fus...

Fusion frames were recently introduced to model applications under distributed processing requirements. In this paper we study the behavior of fusion frames under erasures of subspaces and of local frame vectors. We derive results on sufficient conditions for a fusion frame to be robust to such erasures as well as results on the design of fusion frames which are optimally robust in the sense of...

Adaptive Frame Selection for Enhanced Face Recognition in Low-Resolution Videos by Raghavender Reddy Jillela Master of Science in Electrical Engineering West Virginia University Arun Ross, PhD., Chair Performing face detection and recognition in low-resolution videos (e.g., surveillance videos) is a challenging task. To enhance the biometric content in these videos, imagelevel and score-level f...
