Problem statement. Gas distribution systems of settlements are compound complexes, the main task which is reliable and safe supply gas to consumers. Most existing systerms have reached their maximum service life, therefore an important modernize reconstruct them using latest technologies renovation pipeline systems. In addition, number emergencies has recently increased due not only ageing syst...
Integrated energy systems (IESs) have attracted wide attention as effective frameworks to develop efficient use of resources. Proactive preparedness is a sensible approach for integrated distribution networks (IDNs) propitiously cope with high-impact rare (HR) events. In this paper, resilient-constrained two-stage expansion planning methodology proposed the aim simultaneously optimal IDNs and r...
wireless sensor networks (wsns) are one of the most interesting consequences of innovations in different areas of technology including wireless and mobile communications, networking, and sensor design. these networks are considered as a class of wireless networks which are constructed by a set of sensors. a large number of applications have been proposed for wsns. besides having numerous applic...
application of distributed generation (dg) units in distribution networks has increased in recent years. sizing and sitting of dg units are two important factors which should be considered, especially for reduction of power losses in distribution system. this paper presents a new approach for dg placement in distribution systems using the mixed integer nonlinear programming (minlp). this approa...
This paper presents a novel algorithm based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to estimate the states of electric distribution networks. In order to improve the performance, accuracy, convergence speed, and eliminate the stagnation effect of original PSO, a secondary PSO loop and mutation algorithm as well as stretching function is proposed. For accounting uncertainties of loads in distributi...
Gas-based combined heat and power (CHP) has matured enough to be regarded as the next evolutionary step in promoting energy efficiency use in the urban environment. Although its potential market is increasing, little research has been conducted into the combined technical effects that a high penetration of these units may have on both natural gas and electric (G&E) distribution networks. This p...
Rising competition among gas distribution companies, growing availability of smart metering devices, and increasingly strict requirements on agreed service levels stimulate research on advanced modeling and solution techniques for quantitative evaluation of gas distribution networks. We propose a novel methodology for modeling and evaluation of the transient network behavior after a component f...
Operative planning in gas networks with prescribed binary decisions yields large scale nonlinear programs defined on graphs. We study the structure of the KKT systems arising in interior methods and present a customized direct solution algorithm. Computational results indicate that the algorithm is suitable for optimization in small and medium-sized gas networks.
The concept of disaster resilience has received considerable attention in recent years and is increasingly used as an approach for understanding the dynamic response to natural disasters. In this paper, a new performance index measuring the functionality of a gas distribution network has been proposed, which includes the restoration phase to evaluate the resilience index of the entire network. ...
