We consider chaos expansion in generalized random variable spaces exp(S)ρ,H and exp(S)−ρ,H based on fractional white noise space, which correspond to the ones studied in [6]. Generalized stochastic processes with values in these spaces are proven to have a series expansion, and different Wick products are discussed. A novel and eecient generalized feature extraction method is presented based on the Expansion Matching (EXM) method and the Karhunen-Loueve (KL) transform. The EXM method is used to design optimal detectors for diierent features. The KL representation is used to deene an optimal basis for representing these EXM feature detectors with minimum truncation error. Input images are then analyzed with...

We define a type of generalized asymptotic series called v-asymptotic. We show that every func tion with moderate growth at infinity has a v-asymptotic expansion. We also describe the set of v-asymptotic series, where a given function with moderate growth has a unique v-asymptotic ex pansion. As an application to random matrix theory we calculate the coefficients and establish the uniqueness ...

Using a probabilistic interpretation of Papoulis' generalized sampling theorem, an iterative algorithm has been devised for 3D reconstruction of a Lam-bertian surface at sub-pixel accuracy. The problem has been formulated as an optimization one in a Bayesian framework. The latter allows for introducing a priori information on the solution, using Markov Random Fields (MRF). The estimated 3D feat...

This work presents a generalization of the ACE algorithm proposed by Tian et. al [1] (called Generalized ACE GACE) for irregular LDPC code construction. We show that if the minimum left degree of a (dACE , η) compliant GACEconstrained LDPC code is lmin and the number of check nodes M is large enough, it is a [ α, 1 − 1+2 lmin ] , 2 > 0 expander with probability 1− O(f(M)) where f(M) = max [ 1/M...

Exponential dispersion models, which are linear exponential families with a dispersion parameter, are the prototype response distributions for generalized linear models. The Tweedie families are those exponential dispersion models with power mean-variance relationships. The normal, Poisson, gamma and inverse Gaussian distributions are Tweedie families. Apart from these special cases, Tweedie di...

The problem of automatic query expansion is studied in the context of a logic-based information retrieval system that employs-in contrast to approaches based on deduc-tive reasoning-an abductive inference engine. Given a query, the abduction process yields a set of possible expansions to the query. An architecture for an interactive retrieval system based on abduction is proposed comprising a s...

in this paper, a new and ecient approach based on operational matrices with respect to the gener-alized laguerre polynomials for numerical approximation of the linear ordinary di erential equations(odes) with variable coecients is introduced. explicit formulae which express the generalized la-guerre expansion coecients for the moments of the derivatives of any di erentiable function in terms...
