this report presents the cytogenetic findings (g -banded chromosomal analysis} in 383 cases referred for suspected chromosomal abnormalities because of abnormal clinical features. chromosomal aberrations were found in 63 116.5%) of these cases, free trisomy 21 (7%) being the most common abnormality , followed by 47, xxykaryotype (4%). the breakdown figures for each group is discussed in the text.

background chromosomal aberrations are one of the most common causes of mental retardation (mr). objectives in this study, in order to identify the rate of chromosomal abnormalities in idiopathic mr, 50 mr patients at a charity center in hamadan, iran, were investigated. methods fifty mentally retarded male patients without specific chromosomal abnormalities (e.g., down syndrome, fragile x synd...

In microbiology, identification of all isolates by sequencing is still unfeasible in small research laboratories. Therefore, many yeast diversity studies follow a screening procedure consisting of clustering the yeast isolates using MSP-PCR fingerprinting, followed by identification of one or a few selected representatives of each cluster by sequencing. Although this procedure has been widely a...

Genetic obesity is associated with increased neuropeptide Y (NPY) messenger RNA (mRNA) and decreased POMC mRNA in the hypothalamus of ob/ob and db/db mice, or impaired sensitivity to alphaMSH (derived from POMC) in the yellow agouti mouse. Acquired obesity can be produced by chemically lesioning the hypothalamus with either monosodium glutamate (MSG) in neonates or gold thioglucose (GTG) in adu...

Clear-air Turbulence (CAT) is a significant safety issue for aviation at upper levels in the atmosphere. Since CAT is not observable with traditional remote sensing techniques, it is particularly difficult to avoid. The current FAA-sponsored CAT forecasting product, the Graphical Turbulence Guidance System (GTG), calculates many indicators or diagnostics of CAT potential from larger-scale numer...

Wine quality is determined by the particular yeast strains prevailing at various stages of fermentation. Therefore, ability to make an easy, fast, and unambiguous discrimination yeasts strain level great importance. Here, tandem repeat-tRNA (TRtRNA) method with 5GAC or ISSR-MB primer sets random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis (GTG)3, R5, RF2 oligonucleotides were tested on non-Saccha...

Abstract We generalize Einstein’s General Relativity (GR) by assuming that all matter (including macro-objects) has quantum effects. An appropriate theory to fulfill this task is Gauge Theory Gravity (GTG) developed the Cambridge group. GTG a “spin-torsion” theory, according which, gravitational effects are described pair of gauge fields defined over flat Minkowski background spacetime. The con...

1. Over- or undernutrition of newborn mice was caused by suckling in litters consisting initially of four or eighteen pups. After weaning mice were fed ad lib. At 13 weeks of age some mice from large litters received gold thioglucose (GTG: 600 mg/kg intraperitoneally) to induce hyperphagia, and mice were killed at 13, 19.5, 26, 39 and 52 weeks. 2. Total carcass lipid and the size and number of ...

We study the mixing time of random graphs in the d-dimensional toric unit cube [0, 1] generated by the geographical threshold graph (GTG) model, a generalization of random geometric graphs (RGG). In a GTG, nodes are distributed in a Euclidean space, and edges are assigned according to a threshold function involving the distance between nodes as well as randomly chosen node weights, drawn from s...
