水田転換畑での子実トウモロコシ生産への関心が高まる中で，汎用コンバイン用のコーンヘッダの販売が始まったことから，本報はコーンヘッダを利用した場合の収穫作業性能の解明を目的とした．研究所内の飼料作圃場で試験したコーンヘッダ装着時の収穫作業精度については，従来のリールヘッダに比べて脱穀選別損失のほか，損傷粒や夾雑物の割合に大きな違いは見られなかったものの，頭部損失は低く抑えられた．現地水田転換畑で調査したコーンヘッダ装着時の圃場作業量は，雑草の影響が無い作業条件では42–59 a h-1の範囲にあり，既報のリールヘッダ装着時に比べ1.2–1.6倍であった．こうしたコーンヘッダ利用による収穫作業性能の向上効果が得られる作業適期は，従来のリールヘッダで推奨される子実水分25％以下よりも高い30％以下であった．コーンヘッダの利用により5％ほど高い子実水分での収穫が可能になることで，栽培条件によ...
