The use of low-level laser to suppress infections caused by Herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 was evaluated after one to five applications. A gradual reduction in replication of Herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 was observed, with 68.4% and 57.3% inhibition, respectively, after five applications, thus favoring its clinical use.
OBJECTIVE To determine the prevalence of herpes viruses in the semen of an asymptomatic male cohort with and without infertility problems and its association with altered semen parameters. DESIGN A prospective randomized study. SETTING Medical school and IVF clinic. Viruses are considered to be one of the high-risk factors closely related to human breast cancer. However, different studies of viruses in breast cancer present conflicting results and some of these works remain in dispute. DNA viruses, such as specific types of human papillomaviruses (HPV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), and human herpes vir...
objective(s) the aim of this study was to search for new antiviral agents from herbal medicines. ethanol extracts of c. semipervirens, c. semipervirens var. horizontalis and c. semipervirens cv. cereiformis were used in experiments to test their influence on herpes viruses (hsv-1). materials and methods hela cells monolayers were infected with herpes viruses (hsv-1). antiviral activity of the p...
A series of twelve recently synthesized 6-substituted derivatives of 9-beta-d-ribofuranosylpurine 3',5'-cyclic phosphate (RPcMP) were evaluated for in vitro antiviral activity, using inhibition of viral cytopathogenic effect as the primary parameter for evaluation. Inhibition of the development of intra- and extracellular virus titer was used as a secondary criterion with certain viruses. Five ...
There is now considerable evidence that several infectious agents (viruses, bacteria, or parasites) may play a contributing role in the development of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). The six primary suspects are herpes viruses, spirochetal Chlamydia pneumoniae, Porphyromonas gingivalis, mycobacteria, and toxoplasma parasites. Also, some antimicrobial antiviral used to treat them have shown promise fo...
the risks of transmitting viral infection by blood and plasma-derived products have long been known and still remain an area of concern. in this study, in the process of purifying human factor vii from prothrombin complex, sid treatment using tri-n-butyl phosphate and tween 80 was employed and its capability and efficacy was studied. the results indicated that the process did not affect the bio...
