The introduction of fractional-order derivatives to epidemiological compartment models, such as SIR models, has attracted much attention. When this introduction is done in an ad hoc manner, it is difficult to reconcile parameters in the resulting fractional-order equations with the dynamics of individuals. This issue is circumvented by deriving fractional-order models from an underlying stochas...

Fractional calculus has been used to model the physical and engineering processes that have found to be best described by fractional differential equations. For that reason, we need a reliable and efficient technique for the solution of fractional differential equations. The aim of this paper is to present an analytical approximation solution for linear and nonlinear multi-order fractional diff...

in this paper rationalized haar (rh) functions method is applied to approximate the numerical solution of the fractional volterra integro-differential equations (fvides). the fractional derivatives are described in caputo sense. the properties of rh functions are presented, and the operational matrix of the fractional integration together with the product operational matrix are used to reduce t...

in this paper, under appropriate oscillating behaviours of the nonlinear term, we prove some multiplicity results for a class of nonlinear fractional equations. these problems have a variational structure and we find three solutions for them by exploiting an abstract result for smooth functionals defined on a reflexive banach space. to make the nonlinear methods work, some careful analysis of t...

in this paper we apply hybrid functions of general block-pulse‎ ‎functions and legendre polynomials for solving linear and‎ ‎nonlinear multi-order fractional differential equations (fdes)‎. ‎our approach is based on incorporating operational matrices of‎ ‎fdes with hybrid functions that reduces the fdes problems to‎ ‎the solution of algebraic systems‎. ‎error estimate that verifies a‎ ‎converge...

rivers and runoff have always been of interest to human beings. in order to make use of the proper water resources, human societies, industrial and agricultural centers, etc. have usually been established near rivers. as the time goes on, these societies developed, and therefore water resources were extracted more and more. consequently, conditions of water quality of the rivers experienced rap...

From the available literature, the allometric scaling laws generally exist in biology, ecology, etc. These scaling laws obey power law distributions. A possibly better approach to characterize the power law is to utilize fractional derivatives. In this paper, we establish a fractional differential equation model for this allometry by using the Caputo fractional derivatives.

run-out-table (rot) is located between last finishing stand and down coiler in a hot strip mill. as the hot steel strip passes from rot, water jets impact on it from top and bottom and strip temperature decreases approximately from 800-950 °c to 500-750°c. the temperature history that strip experience while passing through rot affects significantly the metallurgical and mechanical properties, s...

Here we prove fractional representation formulae involving generalized fractional derivatives, Caputo fractional derivatives and Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives. Then we establish Poincaré, Sobolev, Hilbert–Pachpatte and Opial type fractional inequalities, involving the right versions of the abovementioned fractional derivatives.
