A new species, Hypogastrura ellisi, from Iran and Greece is described. It does not fit the definition of any known species group, but, as it has weakly differentiated blunt Ant. IV sensilla, one tenent hair on tibiotarsi, broad empodial lamellae, and dens with fine granulation and seven setae, it can be compared with some members of the trybomi and monticola groups and H. aterrima Yosii, 1972. ...

The first species of the genus Triacanthella to be recorded from Africa is described. Triacanthella madibasp. n. belongs to the Southern Hemisphere group of the genus. It is morphologically closely related to Triacanthella vogeli Weiner & Najt, 1997 from Chile, and appears to be a gondwanian relict. The new species is also the first Triacanthella recorded from a guano habitat.

Hypogastrura gracilis Folsom is redescribed from cotypes and Chinese specimens, and a lectotype and 4 paralectotypes are designated. Specimens referable to Ceratophysella adexilis Stach are described. Ceratophysella quinidentis (Jia, Shi & Chen) is reevaluated from type specimens and recognized as a new junior synonym of C. duplicispinosa (Yosii).

Ceratophysella comosa sp. nov. was collected from ascomata of Ciborinia canielliae in Japan and the morphological and molecular characteristics of the species are described here. The species has 3 + 3 cephalic spines as in Ceratophysella loricata and Ceratophysella pilosa, but a plurichaetosis intermediate between C. loricata (absent) and C. pilosa (strong).
