The Fermi interaction is interpreted as a nonlocal interaction resulting from a double Yukawa-type interaction in which the intervening boson has a definite chirality. The theory is quantizable and renormalizable, and in the "local" limit, the results agree with the usual (V—A) theory of the direct Fermi interaction. The general framework of the theory not only gives a basis for the existence o...

We present an intuitive picture of the chiral symmetry breaking in the NJL and Thirring models. For the current current interaction model with the massless fermion, the vacuum is realized with the chiral symmetry broken phase, and the fermion acquires the induced mass. With this finite fermion mass, we calculate the boson mass, and find that the boson is always massive, and there exists no Gold...

Nonlinear feedback effects due to dispersive bosons are studied in fermion-boson coupled systems by using an extension of dynamical mean-field theory. In the nonperturbative regime, strong coupling and nonadiabaticity reduce effective interaction between fermions as the width of boson dispersion increases. The boson field is completely softened at the crossover to this regime. The softening is ...

Solutions for rotating boson stars in (2+1) dimensional gravity with a negative cosmological constant are obtained numerically. The mass, particle number, and radius of the (2 + 1) dimensional rotating boson star are shown. Consequently we find the region where the stable boson star can exist. Boson creation operators constructed from linear combinations of qdeformed zero coupled nucleon pair operators acting on the nucleus (A,0), are used to derive pp-RPA equations. The solutions of these equations are the pairing vibrations in (A+2) nuclei. For the 01 and 0 + 2 states of the nucleus 208Pb, the variations of relative energies and transfer cross-sections for populating these states v...

It is known that binding energies calculated from the Bethe-Salpeter equation in ladder approximation can be reasonably well accounted for by an energy-dependent interaction, at least for the lowest states. It is also known that none of these approaches gives results close to what is obtained by using the same interaction in the so-called instantaneous approximation, which is often employed in ...

An exact solution for a nonrotating boson star in (2+1) dimensional gravity with a negative cosmological constant is found. The relations among mass, particle number, and radius of the (2 + 1) dimensional boson star are shown. Flavor changing neutral current processes are studied in the littlest Higgs model with T-parity. It is found that the logarithmic divergence reported earlier in Z boson flavor changing processes is exactly canceled by contributions from additional interaction terms of heavy fermions and the Z boson. Phenomenologi-cal impact on the K → π ν ¯ ν processes is discussed.
