Local belief systems such as indigenous religions and social taboos have been credited with helping to conserve animal and plant species and particular sites worldwide. Certain species and sites are protected because they are considered sacred. Although the meaning of sacred varies across cultures, religions, and languages, in general sacred entities are distinguished from the everyday world an...
Breadth-First Search. For a graph like the one in Figure 2.3, we can generally figure out the distance between two nodes by eyeballing the picture; but for graphs that are even a bit more complicated, we need some kind of a systematic method to determine distances. The most natural way to do this — and also the most e cient way to calculate distances for a large network dataset using a computer...
This is a pedagogical introduction to the general technique of bosonization of one-dimensional systems starting from scratch and assuming very little besides basic quantum mechanics and second quantization. The formalism is developed in a self-contained fashion and applied to the spinless and spin2 Luttinger models, working out both single and two particle correlation functions. The implication...

We explore the basic mathematical physics of quantum mechanics. Our primary focus will be on Hilbert space theory and applications as well as the theory of linear operators on Hilbert space. We show how Hermitian operators are used to represent quantum observables and investigate the spectrum of various linear operators. We discuss deviation and uncertainty and brieáy suggest how symmetry and r...
In this article, we propose a novel classifier based on quantum computation theory. Different from existing methods, we consider the classification as an evolutionary process of a physical system and build the classifier by using the basic quantum mechanics equation. The performance of the experiments on two datasets indicates feasibility and potentiality of the quantum classifier.
The purpose of this contribution is to give a very brief introduction to Quantum Mechanics for an audience of mathematicians. I will follow Segal’s approach to Quantum Mechanics paying special attention to algebraic issues. The usual representation of Quantum Mechanics on Hilbert spaces is also discussed.
We present in this paper an improvement of the lattice-based threshold ring signature proposed by Cayrel, Lindner, Rückert and Silva (CLRS) [LATINCRYPT ’10]. We generalize the same identification scheme CLRS to obtain a more efficient threshold ring signature. The security of our scheme relies on standard lattice problems. The improvement is a significant reduction of the size of the signature....
The basic notions of quantum mechanics are formulated in terms of separable infinite dimensional Hilbert space H. In terms of the Hilbert lattice L of closed linear subspaces of L the notions of state and observable can be formulated as kind of measures as in [20]. The aim of this paper is to show that there is a good notion of computability for these data structures in the sense of Weihrauch’s...
