We report theoretical and experimental study on Auger decay of excitons in Cu2O in a wide range of temperatures, from 2 Kelvin to 325 Kelvin, in single-photon surface excitation. We find that the Auger constant linearly increases with temperature above 100 Kelvin. This constant is important for experiments on Bose condensation of excitons.

The onset of monami – the synchronous waving of seagrass beds driven by a steady flow – is modelled as a linear instability of the flow. Unlike previous works, our model considers the drag exerted by the grass in establishing the steady flow profile, and in damping out perturbations to it. We find two distinct modes of instability, which we label modes 1 and 2. Mode 1 is closely related to Kelv...

The capillary traction of a liquid contact line causes highly localized deformations in soft solids, tremendously slowing down wetting and dewetting dynamics by viscoelastic braking. Enforcing nonetheless large velocities leads to the so-called stick-slip instability, during which periodically depins from its own ridge. mechanism this periodic motion and, especially, role fluid have remained el...

<p style='text-indent:20px;'>The paper is devoted to the investigation of qualitative dynamics weak solutions for modified Kelvin-Voigt model on base theory pullback attractors trajectory spaces. At first, studied model, an auxiliary problem considered, its solvability in sense proved, and some solution estimates are established. Then, these estimates, a family spaces determined existence...

The Kelvin probe measures surface electrical potential without making physical contact with the specimen. It relies on capacitive coupling between an oscillating metal tip that is normal to a specimen's surface. Kelvin probes have been increasingly used to study surface and electrical properties of metals and semiconductors and are capable of detecting material surface potentials with submilliv...

This study focuses on the characterization of photocatalytic TiO2 coatings using Kelvin probe force microscopy. While most photocatalytic experiments are carried out at a macroscopic scale, Kelvin probe force microscopy is a microscopic technique that is surface sensitive. In order to link microscale results to macroscopic experiments, a simple method to establish the relation between Kelvin pr...

This paper focus on the role of the capillary in the modelling and the analysis of progressive waves at the surface of the sea. It is proved that the classical Neumann-Kelvin model is fully instable and should be modified in order to be mechanically reliable. It is shown that the easiest way to take the capillary into account is to use a formulation where the normal displacement of the free sur...

The study on the mechanical properties of foam copper has become increasingly important, for the potential market in the foam metal. The Kelvin model was supposed to be the suitable model to construct the ideal open-cell, continued and three-dimensional structure. The static tensile behavior on the foam copper was simulated by ANSYS and the effects of the porosity and strain rate on the foam co...
