Lanthanide complexes of azidophenacyl DO3A are effective substrates for click reactions with ethyne derivatives, giving rise to aryl triazole appended lanthanide complexes, in which the aryl triazole acts as an effective sensitising chromophore for lanthanide luminescence. They also undergo click chemistry with propargylDO3A derivatives, giving rise to heterometallic complexes.

In recent years, using Sol-gel procedure for the purpose of laboratory and industrial synthesis of Nano-structures, and especially silica Nano-particles, has been significantly increased. In this research, silica particles were synthesized by Sol-gel procedure and their physical and chemical properties were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy...

A convenient synthesis of some novel bis-pyrrole derivatives via hydrazonoyl halides is described. Antimicrobial evaluation of some selected examples of the synthesized products was carried out. The bis-pyrrole derivative having chloro substituents showed good activity against all of the used microbes. The molecular docking of the bis-pyrrole derivatives was performed by the Molecular Operating...

Playing it safe: The nontoxic cyanide source K4 [Fe(CN)6]·3H2O can be used for the cyanation of (hetero)aryl halides. The application of palladacycle catalysts prevents poisoning during catalyst formation, thereby allowing for low catalyst loadings, fast reaction times, and wide heterocyclic substrate scope.

Forging a bond: an efficient, general palladium catalyst for C-O bond-forming reactions of secondary and primary alcohols with a range of aryl halides has been developed using the ligand 1. Heteroaryl halides, and for the first time, electron-rich aryl halides can be coupled with secondary alcohols. A diverse set of substrate combinations are possible with just a single ligand, thus obviating t...

A new macrocyclic Schiff base complexes were prepared in the presence of lanthanide metal ion[La(III), Ce(III) and Gd(III)] by the reaction of 2,6 – diamino pyridine, benzoyl aceton and metal ion as template effect in the molar ratio of 2: 2: 1 respectively. The lanthanide metal complexes were characterized and investigated by using; 1 HNMR, FTIR, UV/Visible spectroscopy, Elemental analysis (C....

Cyclization of 1,6-diynes promoted by stoichiometric Ga(III) halides produces vinyl halides in good to excellent yields. Under acidic conditions, initially formed iodocyclization products undergo in situ Friedel-Crafts cyclizations, giving access to iodoindenopyridines. Application of the vinyl halides in cross-coupling reactions has been explored, and mechanistic aspects of the cyclization are...

Functional photoluminescent materials are emerging as a fascinating subject with versatile applicability. In this work, luminescent organic-inorganic hybrid hydrogels are facilely designed through supramolecular self-assembly of sodium cholate, and lanthanide ions such as Eu(3+), Tb(3+), and Eu(3+)/Tb(3+). Fluorescence microscopy and TEM visualization demonstrates the existence of spontaneously...

Three solvothermal systems Ln/As/Se/en, Ln/As/Se/dien and Ln/As/Se/(en+trien) (Ln = lanthanide excluding Pm, en = ethylenediamine, dien = diethylenetriamine, trien = triethylenetetramine) were investigated in detail across the lanthanide series, and ternary lanthanide selenidoarsenates [Ln(en)(3)(H(2)O)(mu-eta(1),eta(1)-AsSe(4))] (Ln = La(1a), Ce(1b), Nd(1c)), [Ln(en)(4)]AsSe(4) x 0.5 en (Ln = ...

We propose a new approach for the versatile sensitization of luminescent lanthanide cations. A hydrophobic chromophore is incorporated into a micellar assembly formed by the amphiphilic lanthanide chelate. The sensitizer to lanthanide energy transfer occurs between the two moieties without covalent linkage.
