Sparfloxacin was more potent than other quinolones (tosufloxacin, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, fleroxacin, enoxacin, and norfloxacin) and as potent as minocycline and doxycycline in activity against Chlamydia trachomatis in vitro and in vivo.
