We discuss, within a continuum Landau theory, the possibility of an anisotropy-reIated wetting transition in a semi-infinite cubic ferromagnet. This is then investigated for a specific value of anisotropy parameter, where it is shown to divide into two Ising model problems.

The giant magneto impedance (GMI) effect is a large variation in the electrical impedance of a magnetic conductor when subjected to a static magnetic field. The sensitivity to the direction (AGMI) and magnitude of applied  magnetic field    and also linearity levels   of this  effect are three important parameters in magnetic sensors application. A suitable annealing procedure can be used to ac...

In this research single phaseLa0.7(Sr 1-xBax)0.3MnO3(x =0, 0.1 , 0.2 , 0.3) nanomanganite with crystalline size of 18-28 nm have been prepared by sol gel method. The structural properties have been studied using X-ray diffraction spectra with its Rietveld analysis and scaning electron microscope images. The magnetic and elctrical properties have been investigated by measuring the ac magnetic su...

in this paper, the electronic eigenstates and energy spectra of single and two-interacting electrons confined in a concentric double quantum rings with a perpendicular magnetic field in the presence of         on-center donor and acceptor impurities are calculated using the exact diagonalization method. for a single electron case, the binding energy of on-center donor and acceptor impurities ar...

It is shown that the quantum phase transition in metallic non-s-wave ferromagnets, or spin nematics, is generically of first order. This is due to a coupling of the order parameter to soft electronic modes that play a role analogous to that of the electromagnetic vector potential in a superconductor, which leads to a fluctuation-induced first-order transition. A generalized mean-field theory fo...

The temperature and field dependence of alternating-current (ac) susceptibility in a Ni50Mn25Ga25 single crystal was measured using an ac susceptometer with a dc magnetic field oriented in the [100] and [110] directions, respectively. It is found that even at very low fields the premartensitic transition temperature decreases monotonically with the increase of the applied field, and it decrease...

The COSLAB effort has focused on the formation of topological defects during phase transitions. Yet there is another potentially interesting signature of cosmological phase transitions, which also deserves study in the laboratory. This is the generation of magnetic fields during phase transitions. In particular, cosmological phase transitions that also lead to preferential production of matter ...
