The purpose of this study was to test flower and leaf extracts against some gram-positive and gram -negetive bacteria. Two different microbial tests were performed; extract antibiogram, and determination of MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) of extracts. The results showed that antimicrobial activities of extracts were notable on a wide spread of bacterias, especially on the choosen bacteri...

staphylococcus spp., is a common bacteria in cattle mastitis. detection of the low number of bacteria requires a sensitive method. we used multiplex polymerase chain reaction (m-pcr) assay to detect the genes encoding sea, seb, sec toxins, that are specific in s. aureus bacteria. the gene of 23s rrna that is conserved in all staphylococcus spp., also was used. due to the stiffness and low effec...

Antibiotic resistance in bacteria remains a major problem and environments that help to maintain such resistance, represent a significant problem to infection control in the community. Restrooms have always been regarded as potential sources of infectious diseases and we suggest they have the potential to sustain bacterial "resistomes". Recent studies have demonstrated the wide range of differe...

Multiple morphotypes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from 50 respiratory specimens of cystic fibrosis patients were tested for correlation of broth microdilution susceptibility results of a mixed-morphotype inoculum with a predicted antibiogram of the individual isolates. The overall correlation was 96.0%, with only 1.6% very major or major errors.

Present study attempted to assess the level of microbiological contamination in oral herbal medicines, frequently used for medications, through conventional cultural and biochemical tests along with the antibiogram of the isolates. Moreover, the anti-bacterial potential of the herbal medicines was also aimed to be checked by the agar well diffusion method and minimum inhibitory concentration (M...
